That sounds truly believable, especially when after they threatened them basically he says they offered more for Bellamy than they could match and way higher wages. Why would you threaten someone off, if Spurs offer was low and wouldn't be accepted compared to a much bigger City bid?

Considering Redknapps dealings and the trouble he's got clubs into with them, and the constant scrutiny of almost every deal he's involved in and how everyone, agent, owners, etc, are all investigated for dodgey dealings really he's the last one to talk. How many players has he managed to take from an old club to a new club, by seemingly unsettling, promising huge wages and getting them to ask for a transfer so he can get them easily, almost every time.

Seriously City offer 15mil, Spurs offer 10mil, West Ham accept the 15m offer, and then City threaten Spurs off just incase?

Redknapp, seriously, just everything out of his mouth is completely unbelievable. I can't imagine CIty threatening anyone, when they are clearly letting their money do their talking, why on earth do anything else?

Took the words right out of my mouth...wouldnt believe dodgy 'arry if he said the sky was blue:p...the guy is as dodgy as they come and luckily for the Spurs he isnt in charge of transfers or they would be fighting administration soon as well...look at the state that he left pompey in, its no wonder they are fighting administration.

The guy should never ever be let near any clubs finances...i really hope City get 4th place though.

Is that really surprising from an Arsenal supporter? Goes without saying surely

Probably only City and Arsenal supporters who want City in the top 4 (and if anything Arsenal are just as much in danger of City next season getting 3rd imo)

Is it??...i dont know.

Well lets not jump to conclusions shall we??...we dont know whats going to happen next season.,..i mean look at this season...no one expected Liverpool to drop out of the top4 and no one expected Arsenal to be fighting for the title until a few weeks ago.

Who knows maybe Utd and Chelski will be fighting relegation next season;):p...theres no guarantee that City will get 3rd or be fighting for the EPL title next season.

EDIT: Personally though id rather not have Spurs or City getting 4th place...

I wasn't talking from an anti Spurs viewpoint, its a Harry viewpoint, and City have been more of a pain to Arsenal than Spurs this season, with more poaching of players and firing/violent games.

Redknapp ruined West Ham, Pompie, Southampton and will most likely do it to Spurs though they have stronger owners/manager types who should tell him where to stick it.

But Spurs have a pretty large squad and as Redknapp brings in players constantly, often with silly deals, eventually that snowballs into a couple players on huge wages and everyone else wanting them aswell.

Its his wheeler dealer attitude, make James seem like a great deal to the board by getting him on a cheapish wage, but that wage went up hugely year on year and the promises of new deals for inept players if they manage to make a few appearances weighing the club down.

How Kanu has been getting paid for years to do nothing is beyond me, it was a horrible deal to start with for a player who simply barely plays and offers next to nothing on the pitch in effort. But clearly he kept getting new deals by making just a few appearances a year and causing automatic extensions.

he just has this habbit of persuading his bosses that if they buy x, y and z he'll make them loads of money and win things and eventually it becomes an untenable situation.

He basically has a record of ruining every club he's been out and jumping ship when the club runs out of money leaving the next manager to take the blame.

The way he's behaved aswell, he'll likely be managing Arsenal in a couple years, screw us, and go back to Spurs before bankrupting them.

As for him trying to rile up the fans and players before the game, doing that by critising their game, players, club, money etc is one thing, lying about a truly ridiculously unbelievable situation in regards to a transfer, is just being a tit.

Reported in the press that 32 year old italian keeper Buffon says he wants a move to England.

The quote as I read it was "My desire to leave Juventus is as great as Juventus' desire to sell me." which would suggest he doesn't want to move at all, but then goes on to say "If I had to move, it would be to England".

The manager/head coach doesn't sign any cheques or manage anything to do with finances at a football club. His job is to coach, manage the team and to identify transfer targets. Transfer negotiations, contract negotiations are the remit of the chief executive who operates under the guidelines set out by the board (i.e. the budget).

True but in dodgy 'arrys case it seemed that at his previous clubs he was signing the cheques as well as pointing out potential transfer targets:p.

Seriously though the blame isnt fully on him as Pompeys directors etc, the ones in charge of signing the pay cheques should have put a stop to his utter stupidity ie convincing players to stay and get bigger pay cheques.

Spawn, why would you want City to finish 4th, gives them even more reason to attract better players, and then shaft Arsenal (probably followed by Man Utd) off the 3rd/2nd places and the premier league all of a sudden turns into City vs Chelsea :(

It's bound to happen eventually, but get a grip son! :p ;)

Torres to chelski rumour now and also that fergie is planning a clear out at manu.

Yeah I read the bit about United earlier, seems very unlike Fergie to hint that he's planning to off load some players albeit if you read the quotes he doesn't actually say anywhere that he is going to sell players....

"You have to take a decision about where we can improve the team," said Ferguson.

"When you are challenging for four trophies it can have a draining effect. You have to be aware of that and spot the moment when it is time to freshen up one or two players.

"It is not a desire to do it but you need to do it because the demands and pressures on players can, over time, be quite exacting."

Whichever way you read that though the only player to me that stands out is Carrick :( Would be very harsh and unwise IMO to sell him after having 1 average season after 3 very good ones but maybe Fergie has seen something in him this season that he hasn't liked despite the good things he's done in our 3 title winning seasons... who knows

Foster wants to leave Utd...i say Arsenal get in there and grab him...hes not a bad keeper...cant be any worse than what we have at the moment.

David Silva has stated it would be hard to not accept an offer from Manchester United if they meet the price.

David Villa looks to be off to Barca next season, judging by what they were saying in the game when Valencia were playing.

Wonder if they will off load Ibrahamovic to make way for Villa....

:D Oh dear.

In that case I hope it happens for both our sakes.

Pretty sure Foster made a fantastic save against Arsenal when they were 1-0 up at Old Trafford this season. Had he not made that save who knows what would have happened..

I don't think judging him on being in and out of the team and not having a chance to settle is fair personally. I always get the impression he is a very talented goalkeeper that just needs to find his feet somewhere.
