Aquilani will turn into a brilliant player imo
isn't he 28/29?
Shouldn't he be a brilliant player already at that age?

Almost certain he's not that old, I thought he was like 25. Plus his career has been stop and start with some bad injuries, he's never really had a few seasons run to prove his worth

He's 26. Was he all that good for Roma? All I ever really heard of him was that he gets injured quite frequently, I've never really watched him play though apart from where Arsenal beat Liverpool twice last season, I think he only played one of the games due to injury, can't quite remember.
Quite good for Roma, there's a reason they wanted £20m for him. He has an immense passing range and amazing technique, very much like Alonso but much more lightweight and probably a bit more attacking. Can't help but get the feeling he went to the wrong team though (and league really ..), we'll see what happens with Roy. He has the potential to be amazing, all the right attributes, but quite injury prone as everybody knows.
He's staying for another year, think Arsenal are royally ****ed at how Barca have gone about this. But Barca are still saying they won't spend 50m-60m on him and will only pay the market value, bit of a contradiction there :s if Kaka is valued at 55m and Ibrahimovic at 60-65m~ then that's at least what Fabregas' market value is, are they completely undervaluing him on purpose?? They must know how good he is :s
so a bit part player in a WC winning team is automatically a 55/60 millkion pound player :/
Mmm interesting.
Edit - Is the reason Ferguson bombed 30m on Rooney, Ferdinand and Berbatov because of their amazing trophy hauls :s?
Maybe not so much Ibrahimovic - but Kaka (and Ronaldo) have won far more than Fabregas has, no reason at all why he should be listed at £55m (especially as Febregas will only leave to join one club, so not even any counter offers will be relevant)
Value is only because of "showing a lot of promise" rather than actually won stuff at club level, he would easily be worht £55 - 60m if there was a CL win / several EPL titles under his belt, but there arent
Whether Arsenal fans want to admit this or not, its how the market works
I personally think medals have absolutely nothing to do with it. I think Fabregas is going to be the best midfielder in the world in 2 or 3 years, and is in the top 3 or 5 now, that's why he's worth a lot of money, and has 5 years on his contract and is impossible to replace
Have no idea why you thought that's what I was saying. Surely what I was saying proved it was garbage. A bit part player can get a medal, anybody can get a medal, it proves nothing. Performances prove everything.
Nope, simple answer in the Rooney/Ferdinand instance is that they are English, English = inflated prices not to mention that Rooney was star in the making and we got him cheap, Ferdinand was the best young English centre back, hence the price tag and also that Leeds were trying to make as much as possible.
Berbatov, well that was just Spurs being Spurs.
I agree completely but then why did you mention that he has just won the most important medal of them all![]()
He's listed at X value because thats what Arsenal want. They have no reason to sell, and don't need the money.
So you reckon if Henry had put away a chance in 2006, Cesc Fabregas would be worth X million more? So Djimi Traoré should be worth millions then, after all he has a Champions League medal...
