He's just won the world cup and provided the pass that Xavi couldn't for 120 minutes :s He can clearly win things. I have to say I've never considered your point as it makes no sense to me. I have no idea how Arsenal as a team affect an induvidual's price, especially when Arsenal are clearly in a transition phase as a club due to building a new stadium. No offence but it just doesn't make sense to me, they're paying money for what he can win with Barca, not what he has for Arse :s They're paying for him to go to Barca, not his medals to go to Barca (even still, the WC is the most important one of all and he's got that a few weeks ago)
Edit - Is the reason Ferguson bombed 30m on Rooney, Ferdinand and Berbatov because of their amazing trophy hauls :s?
You have just nicely proven the point why an international cup run DOESNT increase the purchase price of a player, unless he has already won stuff with his club - note Germany having a core of Bayern Munich talent (and younger team players in the "high prospect" position with less important teams....like Arsenal)
One world cup, even after a successful Euros, means didly squat as its 6 games in a row - not forty or fifty (which is what any club manager will look at before trying to propose a major club purchase)
He's listed at X value because thats what Arsenal want. They have no reason to sell, and don't need the money.
So you reckon if Henry had put away a chance in 2006, Cesc Fabregas would be worth X million more? So Djimi Traoré should be worth millions then, after all he has a Champions League medal...
and if you keep him too long , you wont get sqaut in comparison (as he will run his contract down as far as possible)
Whether you like it or not, he will move to Barca and every year they will offer less and less (as his contract will be worth less), there wont be any bidding war because the whole football world knows he only wants to go to Barca so even if the clubs agree, he wont agree personal terms.
No because you havent come close since - if it was in the last season or two , then yes probably he would be. Its repeated success that proves how good a CLUB player he is, not one instance. For all I know (or care) Traore was a five minute sub, which proves even less how good a player he is (and Traore isnt exactly a central player to the team like Fab is to Arsenal)
Dunno, FrankJH was saying Fabregas is worth less because he has no medals, I reminded him that he won the most important medal there is a few days ago.
From a club point of view he won didly squat a few days ago (even if Barca had 50% of the Spainish 1st 11 on the pitch). Ronaldo was so expensive because he won the ballon d'Or etc etc because of the CL, because of the 42 goals in a season, because of X no of EPL titles etc etc. Fabregas has won none of that (hasnt really had a chance to prove himself time after time in the CL semi's and finals, hasnt been that close to the EPL title frequently
Ronaldo is a great example because Fab is as important to Arsenal as Ronaldo was to Utd 2 or 3 seasons ago (as is suspected the deal was agreed with RM long before it actually happened). Yet all the supporters are expecting a comparative price - Im sorry you are fooling yourselves (not to mention the world financial climate which would probably knock off £10 - £20m from Ronaldo's price tag if it happened today)
Ronaldo proved himself by getting the team to win titles (sometimes when the team possibly didnt deserve it)......does the latter ring true for Arsenal fans lol? Has Fab gone that final step......not that Ive seen
Too many "has talent, will improve greatly" players from the past that looked magic in major Int tournements that went on to die in club football, to make Fabregas's 5 minute appearance as a sub in a few games in the Spanish squad built into anything more than "sub appearance against tired legs" lol
Ignore Frank, he talks rubbish
and of course you never do that, do you!!!
