According to the Daily Mail, Toon striker Shola Ameobi is wanted by Championship newcomers Leeds United.

The Daily Mail says Ameobi could arrive at Elland Road as a replacement for Everton target Jermaine Beckford.

Ameobi, who scored 11 goals this season, has made it known he expects to be in the Newcastle squad that plays in the Premiership next season.

A step back into the Championship is certainly not part of his plans.

Leeds are looking at 3 Sheff Utd players. Montgomery, Morgan and Ward are all being named.

Wouldn't want Morgan. He's a ****. Ward is very injury prone. Would be fairly happy with Monty coming in.

If we sold Ward and Monty I would go crazy and kill McCabe and Crapwell myself. You can have Morgan for a bag of chips though.

The worst result would be us only getting Morgan. He's like Naylor but more of a thug and not as good.

Monty is at the end of his contract, so its probably going to end up whoever can offer the best contract.

If he doesn't mind the move he might well end up at QPR.

Without Monty last season we would have been very close to a relegation battle. If they don't keep hold of him/replace him properly, the team will struggle to stay in the top half next season.

Why offer Fabregas so much and then scrimp on getting in new players.

We dont pay stupid money a la Chelski, Utd and City for players which is fine by me...id rather us get good players for decent money.

Plus Fabregas is integral to Arsenal..without him we would be screwed...hopefully Ramsey will make a full recovery and he can then be further groomed to take over from Fabregas if and when he leaves.

Arsenal have a small club mentality. ;)

Remind me who you support??..oh yes the Spuds...and tell me how much did they spend in order to achieve their dream of getting CL football...mind you thats if they even qualify lol. £40mill wasnt it??...quite a lot of money if you ask me. Compare that to Arsenal, who sold 2 important players ie Toure and Adebayor although Ade can be argued against...and we only signed Vermaelen for what £10mill or something suitably cheap....yet we still end up beating you to 3rd place with less outlay;):p

Wouldnt be surprised if dodgy 'arry ruins the Spuds in the long term...hopefully he isnt in charge of signing players and re-negotiating contracts:p.

Simmer down Spawn, he's only having a bit of banter! You always go mental at little things like that :p!

LOL im calm lol...was just setting him straight on his comment thats all:).

As for going mental??..thats DM that goes mental...pretty sure he will make an appearance soon enough to give us a huge wall of text about how good Eboue is:p:D

Arsenal wouldn't be able to afford him anyway. ;)

You should pay US to take him, maybe then he'll get some Champions League football. Arsenal have managed to buy players that are better than any of Spuds starting 11 for fractions of the prices that you've payed for yours. Players like Vela, Denilson, Rosicky, Diaby and Eduardo would walk into the starting Spuds side

LOL! :p

That said, people say we never spend and last year Wenger spent nigh on £25 million with Arshavin and Vermaelen, people forget things like that.

As for Peter Crouch being better than Bendtner... HAH!

I like his emotion, makes things interesting as if this forum is essentially pantomime anyway.

Never got the whole obsession with finance and number-crunching Gooners have though, as if that's their one 'trump' card against the other clubs doing actually better in the sport... why not go support Barclays or something if you're into pure 'solid' numbers without much actually happening. :p

LOL:p a lot does happen but then i wouldnt expect anyone here other than gooner fans to realise that....the fact that we yr in and ur out qualify for CL football without spending stupid amounts of money on players therefore getting us into a mountain of debt like....Utd for a start:p.

Im just thankful that we are pretty healthy in terms of finances...i guess Wenger using his head rather than his wallet is going to start paying dividends for us soon:)....

Arsenal fans just appreciate what Wenger has done for the business as well as the football. He's had to do it all himself, he's never had somebody come in and say here's £50m, go and buy a few superstars. His achievements have been godlike since arriving here and he's transformed the club in every way. It's just another thing to appreciate and admire, why on earth would you do anything other than admire Arsenal's current financial state, especially looking at the rest of the league. It's obvious that he's done something very, very right

I suppose Fergie inherited Real Madrid in the 1980s then.

Do Arsenal fans always whine about Man Utd fans lauding Ferguson? Never seen it. Only ever see it the other way round (and I see an AWFUL lot of it, very sad)

Sometimes I wish Man Utd fans would try and figure out in their heads why Arsenal fans celebrate their best manager ever before moaning about it, it's got to be obvious surely?

That's great, it really is, but ultimately the point is what Fergie has now (both success and silverware) didn't come from investors whereas maybe it could be said differently for Chelski et al. Hence why it seems stupid to lump them together with said Blues or insinuate they spend 'stupid money' they don't have when in fact said money came from their own sound financial practices and has gotten them success for it. If Arsenal are playing for the future, then United have the best of both worlds in that they have current success as well as that 'fiscal promise' too.

And I don't know how many times it has to be said, the debt United possesses is in the stupid American's name. And more importantly, they have more than the revenue needed to service it. Hence the lack of 'crisis' you see at Liverfool.

As a sidenote I just want to say that I hugely admire Wenger and his talents, just not the assertion that Arsenal will have some 'special' financial advantage in the future. The thing that will give them that is their football, which is beautiful when they want it to be.

Unfortunately there's more clubs in the world than Man Utd though and things aren't as easy for everybody as it is at Man Utd. Most clubs can't have their pie and eat it!
