Indeed, the ***** players like Ribery don't like him because he's from a posh background, or something like that. So they refused to pass the ball to him :/

Utter stupidity that is the French I dare say ;)

Nickg you ever seen him play apart from this WC? p.s. the 'elbow' was never a sending off, absolutely terrible decision.

Also, what reason did AC Milan sell him for? I'd like to hear your opinion. I thought it was because he was clearly too good to sit on the bench at Milan (which he would have done because they had Kaka who was an identical type of player) and also because he had built a good relationship with Bordeaux during his loan. Also because Milan are broke. I'd like for you to enlighten me though

didnt they sell him at the same time they sold kaka? if they thought him decent i doubt they could have done that. but i guess bordeux hit his release clause fee...

however, when i saw him, he looked arkward. and pretty terrible too.

i hope city or arsenal waste a shed load of money on him. he will flop in the premiership, you can come back and acknowledge this in 12 months if you want. ill still be here.

He's a good player no doubt, but it's unknown whether he'll fit in the Premiership. Can't really rate him on the WC, tbf.

What games have you seen him in besides the WC? I thought Rooney looked awkward and worse than terrible. He must be. He'll never make it in the Prem (lols)

They sold him a season before they sold Kaka iirc.

I find it frustrating that you consistently judge players you've either never seen kick a football, or seen play a game or two over a 500+ game career. It's not on. You also get proven wrong relatively often yet choose to ignore it!

For the record, he's exactly the sort of player United need, not that you'd know as you don't even know what type of player he is

explain how i have been proven wrong? i thought i had proven that pedro was statistically and aesthetically terrible at the world cup?

i also remember saying to watch out for hernandez.

i have kaka and gourcuff both leaving in 2009?

ill clear this up for you now.

id be devastated if we signed Gourcuff.

hes like Carrick MK2 but plays further up the pitch.

Again, what are you talking about, he's nothing like Carrick?! Entirely different players.

Why don't you just admit you haven't seen Gourcuff outside of the WC and that your opinion is based on a few disastrous French games

he is in terms of his slowness, inability to turn quickly, needs lots of space - does not like to be hustled on the ball.

Just lol.

Agree with jakeke.

well theres not many players i wouldnt take ahead of carrick with him being so woeful.

but that doesnt mean id blow 22m on Yoann.

I'll make this as brief as possible.

im still waiting for you to show me where ive been proven wrong?

like i said, i could make a 5 minute complilation of Saha or Forlan and they would look like the best players to ever possibly be targetted by Man Utd. lets see what he does when he is NOT in the french league which btw i dont see as being in the top 4 of europe.

Oh dear.

p.s. Ligue 1 is the closest league to the Premiership in the world (in terms of style), it's notorious that it's a little easier for players from Ligue 1 to settle quicker due to this, also the only country besides England to have 2 CL 1/4 finalists (and a semi finalist). How much Ligue 1 do you watch to make that statement? Why do you believe it isn't a 'top 4 league'?

btw Forlan was the top player at the WC, I don't need youtube to tell me he's good and Saha is also extremely talented just unlucky

Just seen a rumour about Arsenal being interested in Rene Adler and Serdar Tasci. The article reckoning £22 mil for the two of them, which is well within our range. I'd be delighted if we signed those two and no-one else, that'd be ideal. Both young and talented, a keeper and a centre-half; the two positions we need signings in.

Unfortunately the rumour comes from CaughtOffside.com, so it is entirely fatuous, based on no credible source and was probably written by some tiresome spurs fan on their staff, just trying to inject a bit of false hope into us gooners.... :(

Pessimism is starting to set in, a fortnight to the new season, and not even a sniff of a believable rumour, let alone a transfer that seems likely to happen. Arsene has been playing the kids a lot in our pre-season games, and to be fair some of them have been impressive, I just fear he will take that to mean they can do a job in the Prem this season...that's a bit of a stretch tbh

oh and Jakeke, save your energies! :) Gourcuff is clearly a class act. That goal against PSG was sick, and he looked excellent in their run to the Champs League QFs, set up a goal for Chamakhattack if I recall rightly.

we;ll see alright

top 4

England/Spain/Italy/Germany

thats based on the previous 10 years of champions league metrics.

best of the rest:

France, Holland, Russia, Ukraine, scotland.

How much Ligue 1 have you watched? How much have Gourcuff have you seen? Stop dodging the questions!

Also be interested to know how much of Seria A, the Bundesliga and La Liga you've seen to make those comparisons.

imo it's Spain + England on one level then Germany/France/Italy all close by

Harry Redknapp is ready to sell Peter Crouch as he gears up for some major wheeler-dealing at Tottenham.

The White Hart Lane boss is looking to shake up his attack and would sacrifice the England striker for around £7million if he can find a quick replacement.

Crouch has followed Redknapp to many clubs and been bought and sold several times by him, but this latest *potential exit will come as a surprise to him.

Redknapp is looking for more strength in his attack and insiders reveal Crouch was being teed up for a sale to Fulham before manager Roy Hodgson left for *Liverpool.

Successor Mark Hughes may be *interested in the leggy front man, who controversially turned down Fulham a year ago – he’ll decide this week.

Hodgson is a possible bidder for Crouch if the price is right and a *sensational return to Liverpool is not out of the question.

And England star Crouch could be pitched into the Tottenham move for West Ham midfield dynamo Scott Parker.

What a load of tosh.

Yeah I know how you feel. On one hand I can't wait for the season to start but on the other I would like it to wait a bit longer until we are really. :p

Maybe if we take all the balls home with us until Wenger has got the players we need.

I can see us starting the season with three CBs though and another season of cringing as our goalies go for crosses. Come on guys, you can use your hands to catch a ball but people are beating you to it with just their head. I think they should play some basketball(Or netball) to learn how to catch a ball

honestly. some not loads but enough.

well i remember the last german champs leagues winner, i dont the last france (marseille? but how long ago lol).

Italy has the current champs league title holders plus 3-4 major teams..good french teams i can count on 3 fingers.

I agree with Jakeke :)

Gourcuff is a very talented young player.

If you're going to judge him on the World Cup alone, I guess that makes Rooney, Torres, Kaka, et al all bloody awful?

Fair enough. It's not all about just the winners though as a league can have 1 excellent team that wins the CL but be filled with poor sides. I think the French league is very competitive at the minute and it's refreshing to see different sides in with a shot of winning it every season, the end to last season was very entertaining

btw I don't think Gourcuff is THAT good, but he's obviously very talented and will probably go on to big things, he's much better than you're giving him credit for
