Well we didnt have our full team out at the time and played for 70mins with 10men so im not too fussed tbh
and you got beat by Chivas and Kansas Wizards you could have "at least got a decent result if you want to rub shoulders with Europes best" especially considering they had 10 men.......after last season we needed a new LB,Striker, midfielders, defenders and we have bought all them which have improved our team so we have developed the team?...and tbh its good we have all these doubters just so we can prove more people wrong.
I'm an Arsenal supporter. ;)

....So SAF was good before he went to utd?

LoL :D

You're one of those kids that has watched the last 10 years of the Premiership and think you know it all aren't you!

I'm pretty sure you're the one that scoffed at the thought of Micah Richards going to Everton when I posted it.

Little did you know that I knew he was having a medical @ Everton an hour before I posted!

Apparently they want to keep him for the time being to see how the squad plays out and if they are going to rely on him being HG and English.

I just don't like your attitude to some posts, there was a whole line of Hahahahahahahahahahahahah after I posted that particular piece of gossip, when in reality you don't know your arse from your elbow.

I have no idea why it wasn't reported, you do realise that not everything is reported in the press and some clubs can still conduct business in private?

hmm ok then....thats fine and yeh of course i dont :/...i do realise that but i would assume someone having a medical would be...an offer or talks between them then no i wouldnt expect to be reported all the time but i would say a medical would be reported.

He agreed terms with them I know that, he had the chance to go to United as well at one point, the same season he had a great season, only turned it down because all of his (Leeds) mates would have disowned him.

That was never reported either.

Let me ask you this, do you believe what you read in the papers?

People seem to be forgetting one MASSIVE key thing in the Liverpool saga.

Someone can buy their debt, the new person would have to honour the debts agreement if they bought it, that means if theres a clause that means they have 90 days to come up with the cash, they get that, or the guy can call in the money on day one, then he can do that.

But the big, massive, fundamental problem is this, other businessmen and banks. £237million debt with one group of people, and if they sell the club to him for no profit, no one else makes any money.

H&G can quite easily take a business plan to ANOTHER bank, or business, or consortium, and say, if you loan us X amount to pay off this debt, we get rid of him, have the club to ourselves, you'll own our debt, you'll make a stack of cash off the interest and if we default on the loan with you, you get a profitable premiership club out of it.

One guy buying the debt, certainly gives him leverage to get them to sell, but also gives H&G a ridiculous amount of motivation to find another buyer, or take out a new loan elsewhere.

Considering the money involved and the potential returns, the fact that Liverpool are fairly big and can charge a lot for a decently sized stadium, theres profit to be made which means loans would be somewhat easy to secure.

IF you were a businessmen, would you just sell the club for no profit to some guy, or take out a loan with a view to making millions upon millions in the future.

THe question is, do they just want to be done with it or not. Buying up the clubs debt isn't even close to the end of the story.

As for City, it doesn't matter who they buy, if you buy lots of players they'll take a while to gel, and for new systems to be imposed. Every team defends slightly differently, takes up different positions and do training drills in different ways. One player brought in and stuck into training will pick up a solid defence from other players easily, 8 new players all trying to learn something different none of them did before doesn't work as well, at all.

Real didn't click well enough this year, City didn't click particularly well last year, and they won't this year. They've also brought realistically not a single world class player yet, Silva is decent, but not at all brilliant and not even close to Ronaldo/Messi quality, Boateng is average but better than what they have, the left back is potentially brilliant, but untested in the league, Milner is just not particularly good.

However they are improvements over what they had in the team already and that shouldn't be overlooked. Silva is no Ronaldo but he's miles and miles better than SWP, Boateng isn't fantastic but he's leagues better than Onouha, an injured bridge, or pensioner Brazillian, or slow as heck Garrido won't be better than really anyone else at left back.

So the teams improved drastically even if its not with the best players available...... so far.

I think that's what we've been saying the whole time; that Toure, Silva etc. are good players, but not exceptional, and are not going to carry a team from 5th to 1st or whatever people are claiming.

I would laugh for a year if the yanks got stiffed on the deal to sell the club and walked away with no profit what so ever. :D

Still, I just hope something gets sorted and H&G don't stall on the bid and things go down the pan (assuming these Chinese talks are legit), I can then see Torres leaving at the first available opportunity and to be honest I wouldn't blame him.

Who wants to play for a club where the outgoing owners couldn't give two hoots about you/the club they 'own' and just want to make a profit out of selling it.
+1. I think it's time serious pressure was applied from everyone involved, fans, players, staff and banks.

How they can expect to make the sort of huge profits being banded around from a club that's gone backwards under their ownership is delusional.
All this talk of new owners and money to spend on transfers before the deadline is over, just who are they going to buy?
I know I'd be very happy to see Alonso back at the club.

I don't think many people are claiming city will come top, I think they will make the move from 5th to top 4 though, and possibly even 3rd.
