You have to feel sorry for footballers, we bleat and whine that footballers don't show loyalty, don't play for clubs they want to be at and instead go for the glory or money, yet when a player does stay at a club where he is happy we complain that they lack ambition. They just can't win sometimes.
Now I'm not pretending to know why Torres is staying but has anyone, anyone at all considered that maybe he likes it where he is ? That he is happy with the city he is in , happy with his friends and teammates?
Now I am not a professional footballer, but in my working life I have turned down the opportunity of moving job to a higher paid, higher profile job with another company purely because I am happy where I am , doing what I am doing. It's fun and enjoyable, which is something I put way above wages and promotion
Do you live around Liverpool?

Dont get me wrong - Im sure Torres had a lovely life in Madrid prior to Liverpool, but he doesnt have much comparison to make regarding other places in England, so from quality of life its a bit of blind hope imo.
I dont blame the guy - I admire him (only slightly of course hahaha) for sticking with a sinking ship (hohoho) but if he really wanted to win things - he would move clubs (and hey choosing the most successful club in Manchester he wouldnt even have to move home), and no point going to the richest club by far in Manchester (or England for that matter) with no CL football
The other thing about Torres to consider on a more serious note, with all the injuries , are they likely to shorten his career? Is it possible 4 or so years left unless things clear up drastically? With one, maybe two seasons at Liverpool before they are a serious threat for ALL the major trophies - how long can he afford (health wise) to give Liverpool?
edit - I would guess it is mostly to do with his family , and good for him, happy that he is that settled
Not really sure what you're driving at here; two of Chelsea's midfielders scored a seventh of their midfield goals, i.e. not contributing a massive amount on the goals front - and they've been let go. In comes Benayoun who scored as many goals as them put together in a weaker team from less than half the number of appearances. Chelsea's midfield was also affected far more by the ACoN given that both Essien and Mikel were missing for literally the entire tournament.
FYI - Mikel isnt exactly a prolific scorer - he is nearly as bad as Anderson
