Well the Balotelli and Milner deals should be done by Thursday and reading the BBC Gossip column...Wenger is going to tell City to sell him Given lol who does he think he is and like that deal would happen anyways

I dont personally believe that you can call x player "miles better" than y player if they play in completely different positions - completely imcomparable:)

The comment quoted seems to refer more to playing ability than wages

completely different positions?

im not comparing a striker with a centre back, or a goalkeeper with a winger.

ireland plays midfield (normally centre mid or attacking centre mid but sometimes right mid).

young plays - left mid, right mid, left wing, right wing.

what is their main priority? its not to defend.

its to create goal scoring chances for their strikers. be it young sprinting down the line or ireland passing a through ball or playing a 1-2.

their job is the same, all be it in a different position. they arent goal scorers, they are their to set up the strikers.

now i reckon young is better at setting up the strikers than ireland is.

i also reckon that mascherano is better at defending than carragher, even though they also play different defending positions, carragher is a centre back and mascherano is a defensive mid. now mascherano was only earning £25k a week last year.

http://lfcglobe.com/reds-to-offer-mascherano-new-deal/

he kicked up a fuss when he found out his team mates wages and guess what he got a wage rise. even though his team mates where playing in a different position than him.

Like Giggs plays central midfield too - his best position is still out wide just like young

Im sure Ireland could fill a hole out wide too, doesnt mean you would get anywhere near the same effect from his play.

Ireland is more like Fletcher than Fabregas imo - someone to break up play with a hard tackle than to do the AM job - either way its still a different position to being out wide

In other news looks like Craig Cathcart has been sold for peanuts :

Hope he gets a lot of games and grows as a player - wish him the best of luck

Barcelona midfielder Xavi insists Cesc Fabregas's stay at Arsenal could only be temporary. The Gunners captain, subject to speculation regarding a move to the Nou Camp, revealed last week he would remain at the Emirates. Xavi said: "We've given up on the idea of him arriving now but maybe he'll come in January when Arsenal are out of the Premier League race. They can't just hold him against his will."

:D

Love the part about getting him in January

TBH they need to stamp out footballers doing this sort of thing in the media. If' xavi wants to be an agent I suggest he quits and does it. I hope these barca players that have spent the season gobbing off get a large dose of karma.

I've never seen a team so desperate to buy a player for the bench. If they wanted him so badly they should have just paid OTT money like Madrid did.

Put up or shut up. The bleating they have done to try to get a player on the cheap is pretty annoying.

Its very clear everyone at Barca see's him as a starter, and seeing as he was better than Xavi, Iniesta in both the world and Euro cups, with his introduction being an obvious improvement every time, you'd be mad to think he wouldn't start games.

Infact can anyone name the last 25mil + signing who never started games very often, I can't think of one(who wasn't injured). Kaka, completely and utterly useless lasted 20+ games before he was benched and he might have been the worst player on the team in that time.

As for players talking in the press, I believe Sagna has said quite a lot in the press about buying this French defender I can't remember the name of, Theo's talking about players coming to Arsenal, though we haven't been talking about many transfers, Arsenal players do this most seasons, as do most players at most clubs. Players get asked questions, they answer questions, its incredibly boring to ignore the 99% of players that do it and pick on only one group of players, just because it happens to be about players at your club.

I'd absolutely love for him to stay, want to stay and be successful if he stayed. However, he won't stay, he won't be successful it he stays, there needs to be other sweeping changes that aren't happening for the team to win something, and I don't blame him for wanting to live in the same town as his family, friends, club he played for, for a decade, club he loves and club he grew up supporting. 98% of people in the world would want to play for the club in the town that had all their friends and family.

Its called free speech, tapping up is supposedly going behind a clubs back, agreeing personal terms and/or persuading the player to essentially strike to force a move.

Talking about a player in the press is NOT tapping up, EVERY MANAGER in the world does this, because press constantly ask about just about every player, get over it.

Yeah it's been obvious for weeks that's he's not going to move for what Barca have been offering. The Barca players damn well know that, so all of these repeated remarks are just aimed at unsettling Fabregas at Arsenal and trying to spoil his season with us. That is pretty despicable behaviour to be honest

Cesc said:
"I cannot deny that joining a club like Barcelona was not an attractive move for me. There are not many players in the world who would not want to play for Barcelona. I have had many conversations with Arsene Wenger both in person and over the phone over the last few months and although the content of those conversations will remain private, the conclusion is that Barcelona have had two formal offers rejected by Arsenal. I am a professional and I fully understand that it is Arsenal's prerogative not to sell me. I can assure all the fans that now the negotiations have ended I will be 100% focused on playing for Arsenal.''

Hopefuly it'll all end for a few months now, sick of it.
