nothing wrong with stating the bleeding obvious :D

though for 'amazing' I would substitute 'obscene' because it is a tad on the ridiculous side now...better than most people's teams on Footy manager or Pro evo! :D

Liverpool apparently won't be trying to buy Messi even if they get a billion to spend on the squad, why, because Gerrard insists Joe Cole is better than Messi and favourite for player of the year this season.

So does anyone else think Gerrard will be singled out for drug testing after the Arsenal game this weekend?

Only if you don't blame diaby for anything, ever again, in a 1 line post:D

Some Fulham rumours;

Fulham manager Mark Hughes isn't wasting any time in trying to bolster his squad, lining up moves for Icelandic striker Eidur Gudjohnsen and French defender Mikael Silvestre.

Meanwhile, Rafik Halliche is poised to complete his £2.5million transfer to the Cottagers from Benfica in the next 24 hours.

But Fulham have lined up Rangers' Allan McGregor just in case the Australian does leave Craven Cottage. Aston Villa midfielder Steve Sidwell has rejected West Ham to join Fulham in a £2 million deal.

Think Hughes has said no to Sidwell though.

i thought gudjohnsen had agreed another season loan with spurs?

Not that I know of.

Silvestre :/

Yeah, I mean if he was on lowish wages, and a backup i'd be OK with it, saves spending money. If i had to pick where Fulham need players/backups;

DL - backup
GK - future replacement
MC - future replacement
ST - two strikers most likely

and possibly another winger to throw into the mix.

It depends how Hughes is using Baird, he brought him on at centre mid (like he was last season) on the weekend, so if hes playing there instead as a backup to Etuhu, he'll bring in another centre back. Good sign is that Hughes has said on the FFC site that he wants to try bring through our academy, which i'd like to see - we have some highly rated players we don't see much of. Shame probably the best one was sold after 6 months :/ (Buchtmann).

How much money has Hughes got to play with?

I'd want him to bring in Bellamy / Ireland, see if he could nab a few other Manchester City players.

Depending on if Hart starts or not, could always see about getting him on loan / cheeky offer in. (Doubt you'd be able to afford him tbqh, but you never know :p)

Well I'm assuming the £10m (ish) from Smalling, £5m from Bullard, and maybe a little extra, I'd guess £15-25m or so.

I'd love to sign Hart, but I think City know that hes their future player, I could see us if we are getting a keeper, it being Given for some reason. Again, I'd love Bellamy and Ireland too - just not Santa Cruz.

Bellamy would be a straight starter, Ireland would be Murphy's replacement soon.

SSN: West Ham make offer to sign striker Yakubu from Everton.

And this could open us up for a move on Crouch with the money...I really wouldn't want Crouch to be honest!

Skysports.com understands Stephen Ireland is in talks with Aston Villa over a possible move from Manchester City.

:(

Ireland is a good player (as a lot of people previousely agreed on) - why are you unhappy........unless you are a City supporter? He would never get a game amongst all the superstars recently bought

I hope this rumour that Utd are competing with City for Milner is totally bogus - it sounds like its totally out of journo's fantasy land esp at price quoted (why go for Milner when you can get Ozil for 1/2 price - no UK quota issue at Utd as far as I can work out)

It means we won't be able to get him (Fulham).
