Obertan is not unlike a youthful Ryan Giggs (from his build point of view) - Ryan bulked up considerably and I admit Obertan is a bit older but even so, yes his first season wasnt great but we paid 2 - 3 million for him which I dont have a problem with at all

i dont know, giggs was good - obertan is limited severely in terms of his ability to contribute with woeful passing, crossing and shooting.

a youthful ryan giggs picked up the ball beat 2 men and scored a goal. and thats at 17/18.

Tosic never impressed me and if he's getting knocked around by 16-17 year old kids then its pointless keeping him

im sure he cost nearly double figures though like 8-12mill.
 
I thought they actually made profit on Tosic, the bulk of the figure thrown around was when they were signing the two players, Ljajic and Tosic iirc?

as the original quote says "from his BUILD point of view" - ie the fact he is more wirey shouldnt be a detriment

Obertan has been scoring for the reserves so that point is mute - also I believe he was signed with a spinal /back injury which took a while to heal properly so hopefully he will settle properly this season after a decent pre-season

I believe thats true - I seem to recall £16/17m cost for both of them, but I cant remember the selling price of either

Yup and we didn't actually fork anything out for Ljajic iirc as went sent him back, again far too lightweight.

Tosic was only bought because he had a great left peg, something which is no good if you're on your arse most of the time.
 
That does actually ring a bell - wasnt there something about £10m for Ljajic or something that Man Utd "couldnt afford " at the time (according to the press)
 
Moussa Dembele should be signing tonight by the sound of things. Hughes wanting to talk to Bellamy about a loan/buy too, if that happens it'll be sometime next week I guess - depends if we can offer more money than whoever else is interested, which won't happen.
 
Balotelli has officially signed for Man City.

I wonder how much he is on...5 year contract!

Berbatov has got to be on 90k+....and its great to finally have signed Balotelli although we could have done with him joining earlier so he could play tomorrow but oh well

I'd be surprised if Berbatov isn't 1 of the highest earners at Utd.

I saw that, but I looked around a bit and several news articles at the time he transferred reported him to be on 80k, I'd take that over Wikianswers.

So not exactly plucking figures out of the air, but its not verified :p
 
I done the same and most reports said £100k :p

Nobody knows for sure, all we can assume is that a £30m player is going to be on big money.
