He's a good reflex shot stopper for sure, but he is distinctively average at everything else.
Better then what le Arse have currently, but they should be looking much higher then either imo.

That's where this one falls down because there isn't any top goalkeepers available and out of the ones that are that won't cost the earth, Given is the best.
Why would City sell Given?
Because they want Joe Hart (probably) to be there #1 and Given wants first team football, not sat on a bench.

Maybe I just haven't seen enough of him play, but I really don't think of him as an amazing keeper.

I'm not being a clever bugger or anything, but I'd say that if you want to play as a goalkeeper in the Premier League or any football team for that matter you have to be a good shot stopper, even Fabianski is good at stopping shots, he's just absolutely **** at everything else, corners, crosses, backpasses... the list goes on and on.

Yes, obviously. But the top teams keepers can do this and more. Given's commanding of his area is woeful, punching is poor and distribution is the worst of the lot.
Given is great at shot stopping and reflexes but cant claim crosses and corners to save his life and i think something like 60% of goals we conceded were due to his non ability to do this....hart did fantastic today and claimed crosses and corners easily and so will be No 1 this season.

Anyway. Given is painfully over rated, there is a good reason none of the "bigger" or "better" sides went in for him.

Best shot stopper around was the togo goal keeper and we know how that ended up
But would cost a lot more and it's unlikely that City would sell him to you.
City wouldn't want to sell him to Arsenal.
