Don't think Fergie was interested in him one bit or he would have done something about it. 13m is a bargain no? Doesn't look like any1 else put a bid in.

Daft going to Real Madrid though, their league has nothing on the prem. And doubt he'll see much first team football.

ireland will do well at villa, shame that mancini pushed him out really. i bet the villa board are cracking open the champagne.

not really - ireland is their highest paid player now, so a lot of the transfer money will go towards paying his wages, they wont have made a lot out of it.

plus they dont have a manager, so their team isn't the unit it once was. will take a month or 2 to settle.

Well, £13m is still quite expensive considering he has a year left on his contract, but it'll be a good buy regardless, whether he'll play though with Van der Vaart, Higuain, Di Maria, Ronaldo etc being their main attack?

La Liga is a very good league, I prefer the premier league but they aren't far off each other, as for not much first team football, we've been given eithe r a reason or excuse for Kaka to not play, their fast strong and no end ball leftback/left winger is, well, not very good. The club basically has 3 proper wingers, Ronaldo, Kaka, the left wing back type guy, Ronaldo starts, Kaka's injured and has been truly terrible, the other guy sucks.

If he wants to play in the middle, Guti left, Gago is crap, one of the Diarra's is probably off, he'll play plenty.

Milner was on decent wages at Newcastle and had a big fee transfer, he'd have been on at least 40k a week at villa, maybe 50k, I highly doubt Milner will be on more than 60k at Villa, I doubt he's on anything more than a million extra a year than Milner was, I don't even know what the fee is 18mil + Milner, sorry they have a better player and after a 5 year contract will be the best part of 15million better off, Villa have made a huge amount of cash on the deal, no idea how you can pretend otherwise.

Also, Edgar Davids to Crystal palace is being rumoured at the moment........

Fergie has a pop at City for kamikaze spending in the same press-conference where he admits to signing Bebe without even seeing a video of him playing :p

Sneider had to leave RM to shine at Inter, and with so many egos in the dressing room, and with Real being how they are (and Mourinho probably not staying for very long) it will be interesting how long Ozil lasts in Madrid

Good luck to him but not sure thats such a good club for someone still learning his trade (look at how little Benzema has been used last season)

think there may be one or two of RM's midfielders looking for a move now

Surely completely opposite ends of the scale surely;

Kamikaze spending - £130m+ in one window as opposed to sub £8m on an unknown (albeit highly recommended by a national couch SAF trusts implicitly)

Or put it another way - the Bebe signing was probably just balanced by the new media deal in Hong Kong :)

Villa have made £18m out of the deal - even if wages are slightly higher than Milner's (and I suspect that was why Ireland was after the £2m from City before the move, to balance out the wages he WONT be getting at Villa), Villa stll have a decent sized stadium with decent attendance - I personally dont think the wages issue was as big an issue as was made recently by Lerner's friend

Done & Cardiff to get promoted. :D

How good are they in defence though.....or midfield come to that.

Bellamy cant do everything himself after all - Cardiff could have Ronaldo upfront but if they are leaking heavily at the back (or cant get the ball through midfield) wont make a jot of difference

Bellamy should be top scorer, but Im just not sure about being promoted bit:)

Well they nearly did last season, few extra additions and now him up top I think they will.

Dave Jones skipping around the wages question...City paying all his wages then?

Dave Jones saying Man City have helped them...

I imagine it'll end up being a deal where Cardiff pay as much as they can, and Man City the rest....doubt City are that generous to pay all of it :p

Whats the Cardiff squad like, will he deffo play as a striker or maybe continue as a winger, because he spent a lot of time in the past 3-4 seasons mostly as a winger, at West Ham and pretty much all his time at City and he's pretty damn good. INcredibly effective defensively aswell, never shirks his dutys and gets back to cover very very well.

Theres often a high scoring striker in the lower leagues, its not that hard to score a lot more and theres several decent enough strikers I don't think he's that certain to be the top scorer. If Cardiff need a winger more than a striker, and Bellamy prefers playing there not sure he'll even get that close.

Would be hilarious if he got Cardiff promoted and then gets bought by them, then Cardiff manage to nick points off City, enough just to screw City out of a champs league spot :p

Well officially no high profile signing for us this transfer window then

The Muppet in me really thought we'd get Ozil but I guess if Fergie was interested he obviously wasn't too impressed after his meeting at the Fulham pre-season game (if there was one and if he was interested at all)

So far this summer then we've been after J.Cole before it was denied, Sneijder before it was denied and now Madrid have got Ozil with seemingly no competition from anyone else

Makes you wonder what player Fergie deems is good enough for us especially as by all accounts in last nights program notes he said we are looking to replace Scholesy.....
