Cant see Schwarzer being too impressed with doing that. Unfortunately I think we are going to end up with the older and worse of the two in my eyes. Still better than what we got though.

THe problem is going through a period of a new keeper getting used to a new defence, and both are new. New CB partnership, utterly diabolically bad right back, and new goalkeeper is just asking for trouble and mistakes to happen, and then within 2 years we'll be doing it again, yippee. Schwarzer will need replacing soon, Given gives us a shot at some long term stability, something our defence hasn't had in years and years, of course another two CB's, and some proper rotation so our two main CB's aren't both injured by Feb/march for the umpteeth season on the trot wouldn't go amiss either.

Honestly I think signing Schwarzer just sums up Wengers idea's, that FAb will be great in two years, he's utterly lost his mind, every single thing he does is stupid these days. Diaby, no preseason and he starts Diaby, whose the worst player in the squad at his peak fitness?

I was only joking about the loan/swap, though it would be hilarious. I'm still seething about the fact that Wenger could have simply gone to Fulham before the world cup and asked, how much, seriously, how much, and just get it ruddy done.

Yet again because Wenger loves his bargains and waiting to the last minute we had a dodgey gk in the first game, and when a new one comes in it will take some time to adjust, and they've missed all the practice games/time in preseason for really no reason at all.

This all because, its supposedly confirmed we were basically minutes from signing that highly rated ruski guy in the January window and Wenger changed his mind at the last second after both fee and personal terms were sorted, again I believe that is because he still thought/thinks Fabianski will come good, for 5 years he's simply been unwilling to cut free dead weight. How long did it take to get rid of the first Hoyte, who always looked completely inept, paid the guy 5 years wages when everyone but Wenger knew he was crap.

I have to admit to being very underwhelmed with Arsenal in this transfer window - we clearly needed to sign at least two decent CBs a striker and a top class keeper and we've only got half of that at the moment, with seemingly little chance of signing another cb and a frankly average keeper seemingly on the cards unless we can tempt city to let us have Given.

SSN Breaking News:

Deal agreed for Milner and a medical will be happening this afternoon.

Steven Ireland going to Villa as part of the deal.

SSN Breaking News:

Bellamy is going to join Cardiff on season long loan.

Cardiff news conference later on today.

Confirmed by City as well.

The only reasons for signing Jones is either Hodgson thinks he's better than Cavalieri (which most would disagree) or because we could make a profit on the deal, in which case we've got a very good youngster (imo he should be our number 2 now) in Gulacsi (and 2 more coming through).
We're skint and we sign a keeper Middlesbrough supporters didn't want (because he's ****) and we didn't need. Almost makes spending millions on a 30 year old Juventus reject look like bargain.

Either Hodgson's willingly getting bent over by Purslow or he's the one signing these players, either way I'm not liking the way our transfers are going :(

Season long loan? What on earth is the reasoning behind that?

They want to get rid of him. His value will only drop by being on loan at Cardiff for a year surely?

Well he won't play for City and City probably don't want him to go on loan or sell him to another PL club. He would have to wait until Jan to see if City wanted to play him.

He said he didn't want to play in Germany, so it was either Celtic or Cardiff, and I guess the prospect of playing at home for his home team was more appealing, plus getting them into the Premier league would be amazing for Cardiff, Wales and Welsh football and for himself and I think he could to be honest.

There has to have been some interest from some of the midtable sides surely? Bellamy can't really think that City are going to have changed their minds on selling to a rival this time next year so he really should be accepting anyone in the Prem at all.

Well I'm guessing they won't, there is probably a buy clause in the loan for next season if Cardiff want to keep him when he gets them into the Premier League... ;) :D

They have probably done them a nice deal on his wages as well. I think he is on £90k at City.

Roman Pavlyuchenko's agent has told Marseille and Stuttgart not to bother bidding for the Tottenham Hotspur striker.

Oleg Artemov has received several calls from clubs this summer about the 29-year-old, but has told every one that Pavlyuchenko is determined to fight for his career at White Hart Lane.

The situation could change if Harry Redknapp decides that the former Spartak Moscow man has no future in north London, but the Tottenham manager has so far failed to land better attacking targets this summer.

Marseille were linked as they desperately look for a striker, while Stuttgart general manager has confirmed that Horst Heldt is a target.

But Artemov said: 'Roman is not going to move anywhere, he has a valid contract with the London club. Pavlyuchenko's heart is at Tottenham.'

He has changed his tune from January then.

Good managing by Mancini letting Bellamy go to Cardiff....good choice for Bellamy also considering that his wife and kids live there and he said in a interview a few days ago he missed all of his kids birthdays over the past few years.....there great odds on Bellamy i might stick a £10 on.
