I shall continue my soliloquay amidst the discussions of Gareth Bale's height.

Galliani has left the buildnig. Huntelaar set to join Schalke for €15m.

Just reading that AC Milan are interested in Robinho too. Nonsensical rumour or does it have a chance of happening?

pleased we finally got Squillaci done and dusted, I was worried he'd failed the medical. Our defence has passable depth again though we'll still be down to the kids if we hit a bad patch of injuries. A goalkeeper in the remaining 5 days or so and I'll be pretty pleased with our summer dealings.

From what I've heard via Italy/Spain this afternoon; if we don't seal the deal for Ibrahimovic, we've already got an agreement for Robinho waiting to take place. Not entirely sure if the Robinho agreement is a purchase or loan though. I'd expect we would try a loan - the only reason we're trying to buy Ibrahimovic is because the loan isn't an option. That all said, the Ibrahimovic purchase is looking a lot more likely now that Huntelaar has agreed to leave.

i dont think bale will ever be a legendary left midfielder, but his form at the end of last season and the beginning of this one shows he can be the most consistent and reliable one. he may not have a bag of tricks but he gets the job done and does have a very good cross on him. as a left midfielder there is not currently any better than him in the PL. note i am calling him a midfielder and not a winger.

i also think modric is better deployed as a playmaking central midfielder rather than a left midfielder. in central midfield he can dictate the game and everything goes through him. his movement is good and he always wants the ball. in a few years i think hell be one of the best central midfielders in the league

Nemeth: When I went back in the summer the club leaders told me they had financial problems, they needed money urgently, wanted decrease expenditure had to reduce the squad. So what happened is not a surprise for me I was prepared. Liverpool was fair they told me everything in advance. All in all I owe a lot to this club. It would be silly to be bothered with the past.

As i said. Asset stripping. The owners want money and Rafa stood in his way (Since they contracted full transfer control to him), spread some whispers, push a few buttons, get rid of him and now they have additional revenue to stay longer :(

Schalke?? Up front with Raul then maybe? Could make things interesting!

Indeed! He turned them down on Tuesday but despite being treated unfairly by Leonardo last summer, he's been completely useless in pre-season. I hope he does well in Germany.

I just hope it goes through quickly - we need that money whether we're buying Ibrahimovic or loaning Robinho.

ac milan have a strong history with brazilian players. i think its a team most brazilians would play for. fabiano has been linked with them too.

kaka and ronaldhino both have strong links there. as does pato and thiago silva. so i can see them getting robhino and fabiano, if they can get some money from somewhere, they dont have much and cant afford either at the moment so they will need funds.

Just seen the Fulham players with a year left on their contract;

Chris Baird - 12th July 2011
Danny Murphy - Summer 2011
Dickson Etuhu - 29th August 2011

Diomansy Kamara - 9th July 2011
Eddie Johnson - Summer 2011
John Pantsil - 16th July 2011
Kagiso Dikgacoi - Summer 2011
Keanu Marsh-Brown - Summer 2011

Mark Schwarzer - 22nd May 2011
Matthew Briggs - Summer 2011
Paul Konchesky - 13th July 2011
Robert Milsom - Summer 2011
Zoltan Gera - 11th June 2011

Ones in bold that should be renewed. Briggs, Milsom and Marsh-Brown have good potential. The others are probably going soon I reckon.

Read my earlier post. Fabiano is a definite no. Robinho is only coming - possibly on loan - if we don't tie the Ibrahimovic deal up (€30m in three instalments). Huntelaar weighing up a €15m move to Schalke which would be used entirely to fund the Ibrahimovic deal.

Does anyone else not rate Huntelaar at all?

I wasn't convinced by him even when he was doing great things at Ajax and his performances at Real and Milan (albeit unlucky in various ways at both) have done little to convince me otherwise. There's no good reason he's been so useless in pre-season. He's played two games and barely touched the ball. The one time he went on a run, he lost control of the ball when he should already have passed it to a team-mate.

Flamini being linked with a €10-15m move to Lyon before the transfer window closes. The rumours over Ibrahimovic's potential transfer fee have jumped from €30m to €40m - still in three instalments.

We really are pinning everything on him performing for us. Heaven help us if we get him and it goes wrong. His decision tomorrow, Huntelaar's decision tomorrow. Quite what Huntelaar believes he needs to think about, I just don't know. Leonardo isn't even there anymore and the club still has no faith in him.

EDIT: If Ibrahimovic chooses not to come, I wish we would make the same offer to Wolfsburg for Edin Dzeko who, as the vast majority of Milan fans agree, should be our priority over Ibrahimovic.

Barcelona are truly ridiculous, about 3/4 of the world seems to agree Ibra is vastly over rated and rather than sell Eto'o at an appropriate time for probably 30-50mil euros, they added him into a ludicrously expensive deal for Ibra, was it around 60mil euro's + Eto'o?

They are what, 150mil in debt or there abouts, and had they not bought Ibra, sold Eto'o for 50mil, thats over two thirds of their debt that simply would not exist. In the end they are going to lose even more money selling him for a lot less than they bought him for, have a 30mil euro replacement whose FAR better and most importantly fits the team style better.

Its easily the worst deal ever in world football, and if you add Eto'o's value to Ibra's, he cost significantly more than Ronaldo did, who has been absolutely outstanding since his move.

Essentially they will have ended up paying what, 70mil euro's or so for Ibra to have one year where he was largely unsuccessful before shipping him off. The deal frankly makes every deal City have done pretty damn good value, even Milner for a total of 26mil seems decent.
