Off that on the right hand side is a video called 'Andrey ARSHAVIN...simply the best'. Man. I really get the impression he's not playing his "best" for us.

Not even close, he's turned into a fat old man. I don't know where it all went wrong, I just think he's too lazy for the Premier League. I always remember something Wenger said during the transfer, along the lines of 'he's not the type of player who can play a lot of games due to fitness' and everybody thought he was just trying to lower the price, what insight that turned out to be! Edit - http://www.goal.com/en/news/8/main/2008/07/01/758013/wenger-joins-arshavin-doubters

Also, about Lucas, it's nice to see he's kept his head down and not moaned, I actually think he's a decent player, much like Denilson, his contribution is under rated

He does a good job as a defensive midfielder but in reality he was bought as an attacking one and actually looks very good when he gets forward.

No idea why Rafa chose to play him out of position because it's not done him any favours with a lot of our support and the media but he just gets on with it and ignores the criticism.

In the last two years:

SUMMER 2010: £21.25m

Gotta love being a Liverpool fan...

We also bought Konchesky this year, and Keane a couple of years back, bringing total spending towards £80mil.

I still blame Benitez. Ultimately, he wasted £40mil spending money on Johnson and Aquilani. Yes, the owners aren't being hugely helpful, but that £40mil could have got us some top players (look at Van der Vaart for £8mil!), and Benitez squandered it.

EDIT: As above, got a lot of respect for Lucas. Not the greatest player on the planet, but he keeps his head down and works, gets on with things without moaning and, as said by Pigeon, actually can look very good when played in the right position.

I'm so glad that is over for another year now.

In:
Beckford (League 1 striker with no PL experience) - Free
Mucha (Back up keeper) - Free
Silva (young striker who won't get anywhere near the first team) - £500k (ish)
Gueye (another youngster who Moyes seems reluctant to give a chance to) - £900k (ish)

Out:
Gosling - Free
Ruddy - Undisclosed
Jutkiewicz - £1m (Along with Ruddy virtually wipes out our spends)

Well ****ing done Everton. Exactly the way to push for 4th.

Honestly what do you expect? We have just taken a loan for £14 million to pay off a 9m loan from last year. The rest has been used to fund new contracts for Arteta, Cahill, Baines, Coleman and Rodwell.

I'm happy that we have a chairman that doesn't want to bankrupt the club to keep fans happy in a pointless chase for 4th. We could spend £50-100 million to try to get fourth only to get knocked out in the first round again. We don't have the money to spend on a squad to consider the depth needed to fight for anything other than premiership stability, the fa cup and league cup.

Loans are our best bet. All we can do is keep treading water until a big investor comes in. Until then you just keep treading water.

hm for 8 mill you would have thought that vDv could have been a Man Utd target... but then perhaps not.

not to harp on about man utds midfield but even in fantasy football, valencia is UTDs most valuable midfielder, but his value has fallen dramatically and not just because he got dropped last match.

thats pretty poor really for a 'top of the league' kind of club...

Exactly what I thought when I read his post, you must realise though that in Azza you have Everton's Nickg.

Easy, Real NEED to cut wages and raise funds. £8m plus removing probably about £3-4m from the wage bill makes sense.

Never miss a chance to blame the club/Ferguson for something out of their/his control do you? You do realise that Real emailed/faxed/whatevered Spurs offering the transfer, just two hours short of the deadline, not the other way around? Hence the mad rush and investigation.

Just hearing on SSN that the van der Vaart deal has been confirmed now. Not sure whether by confirmed they mean accepted by the powers that be, or just accepted between the two clubs and the player.

VdV isn't good enough for Man Utd anyway imo, they could do better, should be looking at the likes of Sneijder not his much less talented fellow Dutchie

I'd hardly say "much less talented" VDV is one of the most potent goal threats from midfield in the world.
