"Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross believes Arsene Wenger has a personal vendetta against him and his club after the Arsenal boss criticised the defender's rough tactics.
Full story: Daily Mail "

Give this guy a Sherlock Holmes pipe.

By the way I think I speak for all of us when I say thankfully there's some real football on the coming weekend, I really dislike Internationals.

Yeah mentioned it in the England thread as well, can't wait. There's another one of these weekends off coming up isn't there? Marvellous...

Hopefully our squad will return intact. Bolton on the weekend. Just what we need. :p

Just a quick heads up, will leave this thread open until the weekend and then close it before it stifles new discussion

you can have as many as you want, just have a topic for each otherwise they will just become a mess of jumbled topics

I think that's what they want, one where they can just talk about anything they want to. There's loads of stuff that isn't really worth a thread but is worth mentioning . I have to say a single thread where people can just add anything which isn't particularly thread worthy and it takes it's own course would be an alright idea

I say just take the 'summer 2010' out of the title of this thread and let it rumble-on on its merry way.

After all it'll only be a few weeks before all the speculation starts to wind up about who City will be splurging millions on in January... Or which manager will replace Mancini after he is inevitably sacked for losing one more game. ;)

A footballing miscellany thread is the way to go for banter, no specific clubs we can all just argue and leave individual threads to sensible discussion.

Not going to leave it open for the 'emergency loan' window? (Yeah, what a joke this squad cap has become)

It would surprise me if anyone took advantage of that. Last year Manchester City asking for an emergency loan after the injury to Shay Given was one of the only times I've really heard of it happening. I don't even know why, surely they could have used one of their youngsters, I know Hart was out on loan at Birmingham but surely they had other options.

Take Manchester United for example, when the injuries hit in with their defence they didn't ask for an emergency loan of a player, a far worse situation than City's in my opinion. Also, as others have said, the cap isn't really changing anything, are there any absolutely shocking or glaring omissions from anybodies squad as a result of the new rules?

You have to find someone worth loaning as well, they don't give you a world class player just because it's deemed an emergency :D
