Everton are on the verge of signing Beckford (free) apparently and Ben Afra's agent has said that Everton have been in contact about signing him.

They're saying Dzeko as well.

Looks like Mancini wants to build his own team, I suspect Ade and Santa Cruz will be on their bikes.

Christ Dezko & Higuain up front next season

Only the two strikers that I wanted United to be in for :(

Hopefully it turns out to be BS

United have to get someone good, I cant believe they will hopefully soldier on as they are now, playing Smalling and Hernandez in the Carling Cup games and then losing even harder in the Premier/Champions League as a result :(

I really thought Dzeko would be the 'dark horse' that we would be in for, apparently 34m would trigger his release clause, surely we can afford that? And in a straight choice between us and City then for purely footballing reasons we'd surely get him

Higuain I doubt we have any interest in but would be one of my dream signings

Can't see Fergie paying 34m for him, and I agree. He's too unproven at the highest level.

Top scorer in the German league two seasons running & second highest scorer in the World Cup Qualifiers for Bosnia what exactly then is the highest level if that's not good enough?

For any striker to be top scorer two seasons running for a team that quite clearly not the best in that league is bloody impressive

He's got a better CV at this moment in time than most other strikers who are actually available and Fergie was quite willing to spend 30m on Benzema last summer and Dzeko is much better than him

German league is hardly the best, he didn't impress me that much against us, and world cup qualifiers? Again not that impressive. We'll see how he does at the world cup but at the moment I don't see how he'd be worth the same amount as David Villa.

Seems like Yaya Toure might want to come to the EPL, and Utd are interested in signing him (as well as both Diarras from RM lol) - for max £20m Yaya would be a good buy I reckon and versatile too

Im abit worried about Benzema - who seems to be available, but doesnt want to move and Fergie loves him, just think Utd may waste time chasing him again and get nowhere by which time all the decent strikers available will have gone

Agree with Sham here - dont think Dzeko is worth anything like what was paid for Villa, and would prefer Saurez from Ajax myself

But he's **** even on a free. So we are looking like selling Yakubu and bringing in Beckford. Pleased Rodwell has signed a 5 year deal to keep the vultures off for now that can't bring their own decent youth players along ;)

Looking like pienarse will be off, but in all honesty I'm not that fussed. Just another mercenary plucked from obscurity that has been brought along, done well eventually in a mid table team who now thinks he's worth 80k per week.

He will then go on to fail elsewhere.

I dont know if you noticed buy the German league provided one half of the Champions League final just FYI

As for the World Cup qualifiers not being that impressive well that's just rubbish, Dzeko has proved he can perform at the top level for both club and country

As for why he should be priced similarly to Villa he's 4 years younger and has just as much pedigree, what exactly has Villa done differently at Valencia to what Dzeko has done at Wolfsberg? Villa only really broke into the national side at the last world cup when he was the same age that Dzeko is now

LOL Dzeko over the latest flavour of the month from Ajax, I bet you wanted Kezman, Alves & Kuyt as well :p

Dzeko is good but obviously no where near Villa et al., the reason he's still in Germany is because Wolfsburg want much more than he's worth

In today's transfer market every top player (of which Dzeko is) is going to be at least 30 million

Bolton want that for Cahill
Villa will probably want that for Milner

So yes if in today's market 30 million gets you those kinds of players then the top scorer in Germany for two years running is worth 30 million
