Not over the course of a season.

You were as good as your points tally suggests :p

I think it will be interesting to see how the rule affects the big clubs and how they try and get round it, Arsenal do spend money (Arseshaving and whatshisfacedefender Vermalator) Weren't "cheap"

He sold 40m of players though at the same time

Yeah but we sold £40m worth and bought about £25m. So still made about £15m profit

Aye, but he still spent money.

The normal thing is that he "never" spends, he does.

He just happened to do some very good deals, okay he took City for idiots and flogged two players to them for over the top but still.

He does spend but never more than he sells. He normally only buys about £10m worth per season though and sells for more than twice that.

So that would be well within the limits of the new rules if they take place. Teams like Chelski, Utd and now City dont do that tho.

So these new rules will work in Arsenals favour i think. Because we will continue as normal whilst the other teams will have to adapt. Doesnt it come into place in 2012? I wonder if Rich club owners go on a massive spending spree before the closing date lol

To be fair to Wenger his last few signings have actually been quite expensive, he just needs to make a few more and stop selling the players that he already has!

I think its coming in slowly in stages starting in 2012 iirc, but don't quote me on that.

It's very much like the new rule for next season about home grown players, I think it will be good for the game at a domestic level.

Arsenal do spend, they've sold well recently. I don't think Wenger sold those players to "fund" buying Arseshaving and the Vermalator, I'm of the opinion they were targets pre sale and the sales were just very big bonuses. (well maybe not Ade, he wanted to go didn't he?)

They only spend within their means, though. There's a massive difference between how Arsenal "spend" and how teams such as Chelsea "spend". Yes, they're both spending money, but it's deeper than that... so don't say they're the same because they both "spend".

It's not just transfers though, it's how the entire club is run as an organisation. Manchester United and Liverpool are in grave situations compared to Arsenal, Chelsea and now Manchester City.

Yeah he did want to go, he was shooting his mouth off for ages about moving away from Arsenal because us fans apparently hated him. We hated him because we'd put up with his stupid, erratic form time and time again, Bendtners game against Burnley was Adebayor every week pretty much. Then when City signed him he banged a few goals in, they all thought he was the best thing since sliced bread, of course, we all knew what he was like and he's been relatively quiet for almost the rest of the season. What was it £24 million or something?

*sniggers* Adebarndoor. :p

Wolves have signed Fletcher for 6.5 million then :/

Not as much as I expected it to be, and the mooted year long loan of Hennessey wasnt included, which is probably a good thing (not sure Ikeme can cut it, even as a back up to Hahneman). Reasonably pleased ot be honest! Just need some midfield recruitments and perhaps a decent backup to Craddock/Berra

I hope he does well I just think it was a bit too much :/

It's really only 6 mil though as Iwelumo has gone the other way for 500k.

Craddock has just signed a new 1 year deal as well.

"One Jodie Craddock"

"Only one Jodie Craddock"

"He used to be ***** but now he's alright"

"Walking in a Craddock wonderland"

:D

Said on the radio that Ya Ya Toure had agreed to sign for an "unamed" premier league club.

I think it's Chelski. Don't think Utd would splurge that amount on his wages and transfer fee and I don't think City really need him seeing as they've got players like De Jong, Kompany, Barry and Vieira, any more defensively minded players is just overkill imo.

Chelsea must be expecting Essien to be injured over the next few years if they're getting Toure, two very similar players

I had heard a whisper that its a swap deal with Masch going to Barca, just whispers though so take with a pinch of salt ;)

Yeah and they've got Mikel too, tough to see which club he'd be moving to but I just have a feeling it may be Chelsea. Not sure about Liverpool, would they really move for him in their current situation?

I am guessing Man City :p...Although we dont need him you have to remember Viera isnt going to play next year hopefully and Zabaleta is our 1st RB and Kompany 1st CB so good signing IMO....Our defence will look like this next year i reckon...
?? Kompany Boateng Zabelta
Hart
With Richards,Lescott and Bridge as backup....
