Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to listen to offers for striker Dimitar Berbatov, with Juventus and AC Milan thought to be prepared to pay £18m for the Bulgarian.

Please be true!

On Torres, there's only two possible and realistic destinations for him, Chelsea and Barcelona. He's already pretty much blown Man City out of the water with his comments regardless of how much money they could offer him. If Chelsea put in a high offer and Barcelona put more emphasis on getting Fabregas, he's a Chelsea player next season.

I can't see torres going to barca because they've already got too many strikers and assuming they get fabregas will have spent a lot this summer even without a £50mil+ bid for torres. That leaves him with 2 options, chelsea or staying at liverpool. It will be interesting to see what happens if chelsea make a large offer but I reckon he might just stay at liverpool for another season to see how it goes. If gerrard leaves that could change the situation though...

18m for berbatov?! sell sell sell!!!

its even better than the veron payback we got from chelsea that time, well worth it.

now we have chicharito the mexican goal machine we dont need berbatov any more. he is too slow and not committed enough for man utd striker. although you cannot deny his deft touch and passes that he makes when he is up front on his own it doesnt work:/

Can it be?

We are not that lucky.

Fingers crossed, then we can hunt for a striker to suit Rooney and a central midfielder who knows where the nets are.

One possibility is that Torres ignoring any advances from Man City will force City into going after Ibrahimovic, giving Barcelona the funds to up their Fabregas bid or to target Torres. Ideally for Chelsea, Barcelona setting all their focus on Fabregas would probably allow Chelsea to take Torres to London as I don't see Barcelona having the money to bring both Fabregas and Torres to Spain after spending so much on Villa.

...he's a Chelsea player next season.

Although I'm sure he's giving his future far more consideration now that Benitez has left, he's always come across as a decent and loyal sort of guy. Although you couldn't rule it out, I wouldn't bet on him joining Chelsea personally.

If Barca had an offer accepted, I'd be shocked if he stayed though.

Please tell me you're joking...

It depends about which part, I can Imagine he is having a chortle at the prospect of Hernandez being a serious option full time up front, but anyone who thinks Berbatov has been anything other than an unmitigated failure is deluding themselves.

On Sky Sports this morning that Joe Cole has signed for Arsenal on 90k a week wages.

Interesting decision, by both parties!!

edit: cant see it anywere else, so maybe it was just a rumour...

Interesting rumour if true...i find it hard to believe that Arsenal/Wenger would actually pay him that much...pretty sure that Arsenal wouldnt pay someone that much other than Fabregas whos on around £110k but fully worth it. A few weeks ago Gallas wanted something like £90k a week and Arsenal pretty much said no its not going to happen...dont know what the deal is now ie if Gallas has decided to stay or if hes leaving. I can understand Gallas being suitably miffed if hes being given a pay rise as hes one of our better players in the squad.

So if the rumour is true that Joe Cole is an Arsenal player on £90k a week then thats surprising in all honesty.

I think Berbatov's scoring record against Smith's speaks for itself really, not to mention the amount of assists Berbatov gets, and his undeniable skill on the ball.

Berbatov is a quality player, just hasnt clicked at united. Same thing happened to diego forlan a few years back. Hes not doing so bad these days though.

Rumours that gourcuff is to join arsenal for 21 million on monday.

He would link up with chamakh straight away. Great attacking midfielder to replace fabregas.

Rumour diego alves wouldnt be far behind also.

Cant see it happening personally but we will see......

If Arsenal are keeping Cesc, why are they looking to sign more attacking midfielders? They have enough?!
