On Sky Sports this morning that Joe Cole has signed for Arsenal on 90k a week wages.

Interesting decision, by both parties!!

edit: cant see it anywere else, so maybe it was just a rumour...

If Cole is moving anywhere there won't be an announcement until England are out of the WC, that goes for everyone else in the squad too.
So don't expect any real news until 24th June.

Yeah but you actually said "Smith should never of left Man U, he was great." :p

i would have kept him at united, can do a fc or mc centre role for us easily. tough, determined scored a few decent goals...

didnt cost 30million.. etc

but then if we'd just kept tevez intstead of signing berbatov we probably would have been better still..

atpbx & Nickg just confirming they know very little about football and even less about Manchester United :p

few being the key word, he scored 11 over 3 seasons.

Here is! Mr Tom "you are the referee" 84!

The man who cant tell you the offside rule without the aid of google.

Hows it going Tom? what happens when an attacker scores a goal by taking a ride on one of his own players?

Whats the deal with giving a throw in if neither you or your linesman can say who it came off?

Watch his google skills in action, they are epic

Smith was one of those players who didn't seem to have a preferred position that he could really excel in. He was ok in CM, but nothing special, and playing as a striker his goalscoring record was awful. Both he and Berbatov have been failures at United, I don't really think anyone can argue otherwise.

I'd take an £18 million bid for Berbatov without thinking twice if I was Fergie!

LOL class absolute class:D

Merida barely played

Rumour has it Wenger has made a bid for Theakston...

Who is that?

Pinch of salt and all that.

Wouldn't mind it though. Grab Gourcouff, get rid of one of the crocks and I will be fairly happy. Just need a new GK, one or two CB, and a DM who can cover at CB if only one CB is bought.

So you would be happy with the squad "if" we also go an additional five players. I think we will be lucky if we get two new players. ;)

I do agree though. With the players leaving this time we need an injection of players as I think we were short before, now we will be desperate. At this rate I can see us going through another injury period which effectively rules us out of the title just as we are doing well.

Hopefully Wenger breaks the mould and buys a group of players to booster our thin squad

I think saving penalties is the only thing Almu does really well. He is a good shot stopper.

Of course he's a good shot stopper! You could say that you don't get to be a Premier League first choice goalkeeper if you can't save shots, hell you don't get to be a Sunday league goalie if you can't stop shots. :D

I wonder if there's any substance to the Joe Cole rumours that have been flying around. All I ever hear of him is that he's injured, no doubt he's a good player when fit but I don't really think he's for us.

Oh, and LOL @ that article a few posts up from The Sun. I love how it claims we have said we'll accept £50,000,000 when there are no quotes from Arsenal in that article at all. I also love how the article contradicts it's self in saying Arsenal have asked for double the original offer of £30,000,000. You don't need to be a maths genius to work out that £30,000,000 multiplied by 2 isn't £50,000,000. :p

Personally I would take anyone we can get just to booster our squad :p

Yes ok ALL goalies have to be good shot stoppers. But he does suffer on the decision making which lets him down. He has improved so even if we dont get a new GK I think he will do better next year but it would be nice to have a Worldclass goalie like we used to have.

he didnt play up front for 3 seasons though did he?

and like i said, he had effort, tenacity and workrate. are you telling me that these traits are not something you'd want at man united.

for the paltry however million we sold him for, it wasnt worth it because we couldnt sign someone more willing for the money.

If it wasnt staged, at all (the pens i mean) then he did make some genuinely class saves!

id argue a lot were in comfortable saving distance from the keeper but he made a couple of decent penalty saves - if you notice theakston dived to his right for the first 15 penalties, it was only when he realised that after the 10th the ROW were simply side footing it in the other way that he had to try something else.
