I'm just getting tired of this crud. I'll take my money back and they can suck it.

Innovation is wonderful, shonky marketing is a pestilence and I refuse to put up with it anymore.

Oh for the days of yore, when the internet was in its infancy and if you bought a game it came on a cd and it just worked if you met the minimum req's.

Hopefully Nixxes has done a similar quality PC version as TR, I thoroughly enjoyed TR.

So we're gonna need a Quad 17 core Intel CPU to meet recommended settings? I think my rigs might struggle to max this out then! Maybe I should re-build an AMD rig as the CPU requirements seem much lower! :)

On a serious note, it is disappointing that this is another instance of a patch adding in the Mantle and, in this case, TrueAudio support. Still, better that than end up with the BF4 style issues that has some of the biggest Mantle evangelists switching back to DX for now.

I guess the thing that is most disappointing for me is that I'd hoped Thief had been made with Mantle "in mind" more than as an add-in at a later date. I feel the earlier they plan in Mantle support the more chance we have of seeing it utilised for something more than just a FPS bump.

Is the game even going to be playable without TrueAudio? The impression I was getting is that 3D audio was a vital part of the game. Is it still going to be there but will just be done on the CPU until TA is patched in?

It is nice to know that it will have a built in benchmark though. Should save a lot of hassle and 'discussions' around how to get a valid benchmark score. Well, hopefully...

Joke Company - check, this applies to both Eidos and AMD
Lied to the public - check, again applies to both AMD and Eidos
Refund requested - check

AMD could not have done a worse job of Mantle/True audio release if they tried. The benefits will come but jesus christ AMD, do yourselves a favour and hire some chimps to do your marketing. They will do a much better job.

The marketing (as in building the hype) is good, but it's the execution they fall short on, always.

There in lies the problem, there is clearly very poor communications between the different parties.

In all honesty AMD should have ensured EA/Dice and Eidoes/Square Enix had Mantle ready and working at their respective games release. So instead we had the AMD apologists claiming it was EA/Dice who were at fault and now Square Enix are the bad guys. Oh how I laughed when Dice said here is the BF4 Mantle patch and AMD said, "erm, the drivers aren't ready". Then we end up with the atrocious 14.1 betas that kill DX performance in almost every game.

Proof of concept shows Mantle is definitely a big plus going forward. It just that AMD somewhere along the line will ALWAYS fumble in a massive and embarrassing way.

Steam now have an offer that if you purchase it on steam, you will receive some items in tf2 and a set in dota 2, anyone know if this will be available for people who acquired thief through never settle?

Hmmm R9 or above, a bit strange that only the top two R9 cards support True audio, also for CPU eight core AMD or hyper threaded quad core for Intel but only 4 GB of ram. Isn't Mantle suppose to help massively in this regard so you don't need top tier CPU's

The spec sheet reads really strangely to me.

Probably worth not thinking about to be honest.
It's a UE3 game as far as I'm aware which makes little sense given the rec's :p

People with clocked i5's will be maxing the game no worries.
