I'm getting more & more impressed with my AC-PRO's everyday I use them

I'm currently rebuilding my PC in the garage at the bottom of the garden (no LAN connectivity), fired up the PC on the test bench & connected it to the wireless, card is reporting a 1.3Gb/s link with a "real" throughput of 400-500 Mb/s

The old wireless router couldn't even make it to the garden

Well to be honest for wireless performance that pretty damn good.

Has anyone tried installing the controller software on a Raspberry Pi 3?

I'm currently running the controller software on a spare desktop machine, which is a little wasteful (not interested in a cloud controller), was thinking of using my Raspberry pi instead (if anything to cut down on electrical consumption)

I've enrolled in the beta program so I'm running the betas of the Unifi controller and firmware on the USG and AP-AC-LR's.

No problems yet which is nice. One big improvement is the routing and firewall stuff for the USG is now available in the controller so no need to mess about with config.gateway.json files.

I have two in my house and one in the garden and I have tuned the transmit power down on them and it works a treat moving from the garden to the house and back again the coverage in my house with the 2 inside is fantastic full bars of signal on 5ghz!

Goodness.

What's the TX power of one of these?

on my AC-LR

Maximum TX Power
2.4 GHz - 24 dBm
5 GHz - 22 dBm

Same - max's my fibre anywhere in the house. Also brilliant live support - wanted to check something this morning - live chat immediately with Unifi, problem solved, even a follow up email later today to check everything was ok.

Can't fault mine since I hooked it up. Been superb.
