...Any pointers guys?
It's best we give you pointers in-game, mate. Then we can see what you're doing right/wrong.
-The best thing I can tell you is to maintain as much energy as you can in a battle by diving in and out, and climbing immediately when you spawn to build energy for later. Only turn fight if you know you can turn better than the other guy.
-Also, make sure you EXPERT all your pilots for their planes, starting with the ones you use most (Only spend Eagles to ACE if it is cheap and you use that plane a lot, and you have spare Eagles).
-Head-to-Heads are a bad idea, unless you have center-line cannons and the enemy has wing-mounted.
-Become friends with the F button, learning when to use your combat flaps to gain the advantage.
-Choose your planes wisely.
-Go after weaklings, damaged enemies or idiots who are off on their own, away from their team mates.
-Always remember, the worst situation you can be in is when you are LOW AND SLOW. You are a sitting duck waiting to be shot down, so don't get into that situation. But the reverse of that is, there is usually someone else making that mistake you can drop on and kill. Learn to spot them.
-Don't get personal with other pilots, looking to get revenge kills. You will get tunnel vision and someone else, who you won't see comming, will kill you while you hunt the 1st bloke. Also, when you miss, you will rage and all sense and reason will disappear. That's when you will get killed, and rage more, and you just get worse and worse. This is the reason we rely on "War Thunder Juice" (Beer) on friday nights. 2 Beers in, you don't care if a guy killed you. You just hunt the closest enemy to you, instead of wasting time in a long chase.
Then you end up with massive kill streaks. If you're plane borks and you go into a cliff... who cares? Next plane, next kill. Bosh.
