I genuinely, genuinely do not have any idea.
There are many comments on their forums questioning whether anyone who makes decisions at Gaijin actually plays the game, and my only conclusion can be that no, they don't. They seem to not understand that War Thunder is a free-to-play format game. That means they have different types of players to cater for - one of whom is the long-term paying customer, who will put lots of hours in and then act as an ambassador for the game, singing its' praises and recruiting new players by suggesting they play WT and guiding them in how it all works etc. This I have done for several friends, some with success in becoming regular players, others less so. Fair enough, if it isn't for you then fine, you've lost nothing as a player.
However, by alienating the likes of me, Boycey, Brainchild etc then we're going to stop getting new people into the game, we wont recommend it to people, given that the game-makers consistently, continually strive to make the game a worse experience for almost every group of players!
Good player and take out your 1.3BR biplane lineup with the British? Meet P40's and P400's. What the actual ****?
It was only about 2 weeks ago that I joined in a War Thunder game with a couple of Steam friends, and they were playing the British - at tier 3. They were completely unaware of how the Battle Rating was what's used to calculate your matches/enemy levels, so their one and only Spitfire Vc at 5.3 was dumping them up against very high tier BnZ prop planes who were regularly murdering them, especially as their other planes were mostly Beaufighters - easy prey for FW190's! I did explain the BR system to them as best as I possibly could, but why they heck should I have to?
Why is the game mechanic so fundamentally broken that players who have decent tier 3 planes *STILL* aren't aware of how their matches are being calculated?And as for asking for a slightly longer queue time to get a fairer (i.e. reduced) BR spread within the matchmaking, we may as well forget asking - it's been asked for enough, and we aren't getting it because they don't want to give it. Simple as that. Nope, no-one here can justify or explain why either.
I'm not going to buy any more Golden Eagles, I'm not going to buy any decals, or pictures, camos or stupid 'gambling' boxes either.
When I'm in the mood for it, I'm going to get a competent squad together and abuse the MatchMaker as much as is possible to win Golden Battles wagers, especially after the last fiasco of me accidentally losing 400 Eagles or more - and yes, I am going to fly low tier planes and kerb-stomp noobs into the floor with my mighty Russian cannons of insta-death and my fast reload times. Because F2P relies on its' new players coming into the game, and the more I can wipe out in a blazing fury of death, the better it'll make me feel.
Because screw you, Gaijin.

Right, I sort of get where you're coming from here, however why should you have to spend your time playing for the satisfaction of downing noobs?
The game should have more to offer to experienced players, it used to at one point (the 2v2 duels, Brain and I loved those, and the no hud battles) but now the interesting game modes are only avaliable for 24 hours or so and the back to the drudgery of the unlocks.
I love flying new planes, theres some satisfaction in getting a new jet or a new spit you want, but not when theres a month solid grind (if you have premium, if not its two months) to get cool stuff.
I dunno what I want to do with it atm, after they rolled back the date on this weekends special and made me miss out on it i've had it.

You need to play more RB and SB, this is where it's at
Tell you what might take you up on that, I'll get some sim practice in later and see what happens

Seconded.
I took out my 3.3 British last night, only to find I was up against fire breathing, cannon armed YAK-3s and equivalent, completely outclassing anything I had. Until the new MM system was put in place, 3.3 would have been a safe place to play. But not now.
I am basically now only going to use WT for an ego boost, by running stuff that I can guarantee will perform, and in as many squads as I can pull together.
Tank battles? Low levels, troll tanks and KV2 platoons will be the order of the day.
Planes? 3.7s, bombing-only runs that get me 100,000 lions using my premium Havocs, and squads of 2.0 and 2.3 BR Russians for maximum noob destruction. I'm not hunting new planes anymore, except incidentally, or if I ID a new troll plane.
I don't think I will be updating my Premium account when it runs out, I simply don't need it anymore.
Golden Eagles will be sourced through Golden Battles wagers, run with fellow OCUK Aces with a view to getting around the MM to make it as easy as possible.
And noobs? Accidental/purposeful TKers? Guys who are running rubbish planes?
Their fault. Don't care. Fair game.
If they don't like it, they can blame Gaijin for putting level 100 me with my fully upgraded, aced pilots and planes into matches with toddlers. I didn't decide it should be like that. I just want to play my premium 2.3 I-301 with 23mm cannon, and 50-cals, and rifle-caliber guns, because I worked my rear-end off to get it.
Seriously *annoyed* for Boycey. Them dropping a day from an event just because they felt like it is a BS, dirty pirate move.

Official response from Gaijin on that matter, what they failed to say was they changed the date AFTER they realised it had auto-ended early and got flooded with complaints, people have got screen shots from every source it was posted on.
I find RB and SB much more rewarding than Arcade and there are usually much fewer noobs from my experience.
I stuffed 12 people last night in 1 battle with a KV2 (and planes) - that did make me smile, I must admit. Knowing that I'd taken out a minimum of 4 enemy players entire tank lineups, or more likely 5 or 6 players owing to ragequitting, plus capping the only cap point on the map... felt good. 
But it worked because teamwork. Brainchild was ahead of me in a Jagdpanzer, starting the engagements and calling out targets over TS, using his low profile to avoid being murdered, and when someone tried to take a shot at him they were met with a flying dustbin of 50KG of high-explosive to the face. Which I've heard has detrimental effects to your tank.
Without this teamwork, I'd have probably ended up in yet another garbage tank battle where most of my team sit back near spawn in their fast medium tanks, trying to score hits/kills from as far back as possible, completely ignoring the need to capture a point to win. Yes, winning the match isn't everything, but it's part of the point of playing in the first place, and also helps massively towards research gained. Far better to win, and win in style than feel like you've been stomped on by an indestructible enemy team!

Same response as I got when I raised a ticket about having gained 400 Eagles in a Golden Battle wager, then loaded another wager which deleted the golden battles wager without warning me that it would, and didn't even give me the 400 Eagles that I'd earned!
That's not a mistake. That's deliberate coding designed to **** off their players, plain and simple.

edit: meant to add info for clarity.....have ground for a month to get the is-2 mod to discover it is actually playing worse than the previous is-2 even though they are the same tank.......shells bouncing only slightly scratching tanks the 1st is-2 or even the is-1 would 1 shot.....wtf....why gaijin?

i found that too... until i unlocked the ammo.. then its back to wrecking everything
I did take that into account, but it should still be mincing some of the tanks that it is barely penetrating. I'd like to fire a 122 round at gaijin headquarters for braking my game - the only game I can play at the moment thanks to a cast on my left wrist

Flippin game keeps crashing now.
NV driver crashes whenever I'm in a good game getting kills with my T34's.
Ideas? Always NV driver crashes. I've tried a few drivers too.
It used to be really stable.
Yup, its either your shadows or hdr bloom or some pap, i was getting it for ages, will check now and find out
e: it must be extra anti aliasing as thats the only option ive got unchecked
