******Official War Thunder Thread*******

I'm usually an evening player, typically post 9pm weekday nights and some weekend nights.

At the moment I'm re-doing a lot of the mortar pointing work on the single storey 'coal-house' type part of my house, and the massive gable end so I'm often getting in from work and putting in ~2 hours worth of work on that, so I don't get on war thunder or anything else until later.

Add me on Steam as [SAF]Matt_FSR if anyone wants to give me a shout, will happily squad up doing most stuff, although I'm probably better as an arcade mode player.
 
Something seriously up with MM today, it's having a break down and IS-4's and Maus's are getting shoved into 6.0 battles with players still working on their reserve tanks hahaha
 
While it is quite funny watching a Maus spank a BT7 and I was able to realise my dream of my Tiger surviving a head on battle with an IS4 by repeatedly disabling it's barrel only to be twonked by a sherman....

It's just got painfully frustrating! Something be seriously broken
 
Persevere with the Germans and experience the pure joy of the Tiger H1 (In Mick the trainers voice from Rocky 3) "It's a wrecking machine" and the most fun I've had in a tank so far!

Unlocked the 1st tiger and I wasn't that impressed but that's because I was getting paired up with higher tier tanks.
 
While the KV-85's and IS-1 have decent armour their gun's aren't particularly powerful and a well placed shot from a Tiger H1 can and has in my experience disabled these quickly... I've even smashed IS-2's, Tiger 2's (Albeit side on)

The M18 is a beast as well, and maybe it's down to personal preference but the Tiger H1 is definitely my favourite tank so far!

I love the Tiger tank but have struggled with it against the Russians and Americans in WT. The gun isn't usually my first target, so I may try that later.
I've started to prefer the Panther to it as I seem to get more kills with it.

I think the Panther is better, the sloped armour helps with survivability as long as you are front-on to the enemy. With the Tiger, a decent calibre and velocity shot to the flat front and you're most likely stunned and about to die (or dead already). I ammo racked a Tiger at about 100m with the 76mm Sherman through the flat glacis plate, just about possible with the US M62 round afaik. I also think the Panther gun is nicer, better penetration, higher velocity and great for range and up close. Panther is pretty maneuverable too. Just be careful about showing the sides to anyone, good as dead :)

Hey guys, im just wondering about the Crew skills for tanks, ive been spreading around my skill points quite evenly for ages now but still not sure what they all do and if i should ignore some and focus on others?.

just watch the image size you post on here dude, over a certain size (can't remember) they need to be put in spoiler tags

re the crew points I mainly focus on Tank Driver, Gunner and Loader. get their vitality up as quickly as possible as it reduces the number of 'crew knockouts' which is an absolutely soul destroying way to get a tank killed. then reload speed for loader....followed by repair skills for each. after that spread the love as you feel fit.

Ta Thekwango, sorted the images, as for the crew i thought so, but i was playing it safe by spreading them all equally, ill refocus on those ones now though.
As for being in the squad i was at one point, got booted :p
