******Official War Thunder Thread*******

Twas a good evening, even though there was mainly only two of us on at a time. Amazing how a bit of teamwork on the game can improve your performance, when your spotting for each other and covering each others backs.

Done a good solid 4 hours at least I think, so I am going to sleep. See you in the skies another time gents :)

That is a real pleasure when you get that first Spitfire, that is why I got the game in the first place. When I found out the Mossie was in it, well then I wet myself with excitement :D

Let me know if anyone here creates a squadron. I don't really do arcade, instead preferring HB.

Flying the Beaufighter in HB or FRB is just a death wish. That thing packs a punch but its seriously outmanoeuvred by, well, pretty much everything it seems. It's a formidable ground attack aircraft but if you're on the deck dropping a torpedo or shooting up vehicles, you absolutely need fighters near you to cover your back. Or you need blind German or Japanese opponents.

I created one last month. Just post up your in game name in here and look for OcUK in the squadron list and you'll be more than welcome mate

Cheers guys, was playing with one of you guys this morning (well 2 games) so thought i'd join up!

Ammo wise I find that ground target ammo works best all around when you get a hit, followed by universal then tracer....

What ammo does everyone use? At the moment I'm still using the default belt.

Good question and one I had been meaning to ask also, I look at the different types and it means little to me :)

What I find is that Stealth is useful if you're flying the plane from in-cockpit, but if you're flying 'behind the plane' view then its hard to see where you're shooting - but you often don't alert the enemy to your existence until it's too late!

One you've unlocked options, select either ground or air targets accordingly if they're available (often only for cannon shells) or I find armour piercing is pretty damaging. Failing that, change from 'default' to 'Universal' as soon as you can - reason being that 'default' includes some rounds that are just hopeless, such as aiming rounds that actually do almost no damage, whereas armour-piercing tracer is a perfectly good aiming round that packs punch!

depends what your going up against, stealth is pretty good

Sneaky sneaky ;-)

Full tracer is fun, tends to start fires easily but you do let people know where you are from 2km away!
