ill be on too, theyve ruined this game though :(

Even worse, they've nerfed the I-16!!!

I just set up my planes to rank 0/1 (using the old system) and was up against LaGG's :(
 
I had some mixed results when playing last night, some games were pretty balanced and others we were entirely out-matched (i.e. 8 kills one match, none the next).

Something needs tweaking and soon :(
 
Tried some bombing last night in my trusty, and now heavily nerfed A20-G.

Seems that even a 500lb bomb on a medium tank head-on is a waste of a bomb. Near misses which used to kill or damage tanks are now worthless as well. The only way I had any success was bombing from behind the tanks, parking the bomb pretty much into their rear armour.

Oh, and light tanks are still vulnerable to .50 cal fire into their rears.

My guess is they've spoiled bombing in order to level the playing field for the incoming tanks, and thereby making it much harder to kill the tanks on the battlefield. Still, that's just going to make me strap bombs under EVERY fighter I can do so, and bomb tanks into tiny little pieces :D
 
the ranking sytem is what gets me on the new patch.

i was enjoying the slog to unlock upgrades. ie. you get out what you put in.

post patch i got 11 kills in 1 game and fully upgraded my lag. wtf. well, that was a bit easy.

im only a newb (level 6 or something of the sort) but that amount of unlocking is just crazy.

I think it slows down a lot as your levels get higher.

Also, that's a pretty meaty kill score for a noob... and if you did that in a winning match, added to the x4 multiplier for your first victory, that would explain the full upgrades to the Lagg. Also, all your 'research' went into that plane, whereas previously it would have been spread across multiple planes.

ahh ok, i was on the losing team unfortunately :(

its still a bit silly being able to unlock so much stuff so quickly though.

It does, above rank 3 I doubt anyone will be complaining that unlocking is "too easy".

The new system whereby you can choose which upgrade to work on is a huge blessing though, means that you can selectively work towards that new 20mm ammo belt on British fighters for example so you only have to play the bare minimum of games handicapped with practice rounds.

which is all well and good, but what it still doesn't explain is why a previously tier 7/8 plane is now lumped in with an old tier 3 in the 'new' tier 2, which would never have met in battles unless you took a lower tier on purpose.

So swing and a miss for Gaijin!

Yup, they be talking out their behinds. How can tier 1 planes, which include bi-planes be pitted against yak9's and airacobras. I've also been in a game where I was in a kingcobra(new tier 3) going up against bi planes. I know this for a fact as I started a game in a kingcobra and the first plane I engaged was a bi-plane. Funnily enough he came at me head on. I lol'd. He probably didn't!!
 
Tried rise of flight with kb & mouse, hilariously bad. gonna give this a go while i wait for my x52 pro to get here. The torrent of client is painfully slow though:( I've uploaded 15GB now lol

aplogies to everyone for my awful language this evening, matchmaking plus team who refuse to cap on domination ruined a few games for me :( cheers to everyone for making it more enjoyable than it would have been though!
 
i missed that :) sounds like Kwango has been a bad influence lol.

we are supposed to have an ice storm tonight, last bad one we had, we lost power for a week, so fingers crossed i wont wake up with trees all over the ground in the morning.
