It uses a built-in bittorrent client protocol to provide the updates apparently, so as you're updating, you're also seeding the update to other users.

Saves Gaijin monies on servers, but also means you get rubbish updating speeds as they obviously don't have many servers seeding the update out from source.

I'm not aware that there's any other way to get the update, sadly.

especially being with bt who hates torrent servers. on 75 meg fibre and downloading at 1 mbs.

Looking online a way to speed it up is to change the language in the launcher to Russian. I am getting slightly improved speeds from the change but not much. Might be worth a try for you chaps anyway.

Yeah we've a TS server. Have you applied to join the OcUK squadron?

Not overly impressed that all the new planes are going to be insanely-high ranked stuff, and therefore you won't actually be able to grind (ahem, "unlock") hardly any of them before the next update comes out.

Oh, and LOLGaijin - "Spitfire IX Russian Lend - Lease, only 6 days to purchase!! ZOMG!!!!" At 6900 Eagles. Or in real money, £21. **** right off springs to mind.

Took my little 109 E-3 up for a flight on Sicily and I got bounced by 5 P38's. It seems like everyone is loving this plane in 1.39, the climb rate certainly seems to be improved. I tried it out but found it was quite different, wasn't long before I entered a very tight spiral nose dive after a hard turn. Strangely, the only way to pull out of this was to push the stick hard forward (yes, whilst stuck diving straight down) and pull an inverse loop or "English Bunt" (according to wikipedia). No idea if this is accurate but it felt very strange indeed.
