****** Official World of Tanks OcUK Clan ******

A lot of people seem to be moaning, I tab out post on the forums then tab back in for the last 5 seconds.

me or go make a coffee but it's still a bit annoying when they could make it slightly shorter and still make sure everyone is loaded.

make sure everyone is loaded. (if it's taking the pee then start the timer anyway like league of legends)
short Timer starts (5-10seconds)
Game begins.

much better than at least 30 seconds every game no matter what

I don't understand why it needs a timer...

Other games will make everyone wait whilst others load and then 10 seconds and off you go..

I don't get why WOT has a silly long preset time don't the devs know how to code?

If you think that having 5/15 players not loaded when the game stars doesn't matter you obviously haven't grasped how the game works...

I dont know even when 15 players are loaded it often feels like only 10 are playing anyway.

Oh wait I forgot about the bots. ;)

I never said the game should start whilst people are loading. other games get around unnecessary waiting periods that happen in wot after everyone is loaded.

It just seems like a really dated old fashioned way of dealing with making sure everyone is ready

The 30 secs also allows for tactics to be discussed, decided and then ignored :D Only useful when in platoons or companies though.

the only tactic I ever see if people spamming the minimap grids :p
Even platooned people the majority of the time in my experience don't even go to the same sides of the map.... why bother joining a game together if you aren't going to play together?

atleast when I've bothered to take notice :p

Being in a platoon and all going the same way isnt always the best idea. If you make up the better players of your team doing that can actually reduce your chances of winning. Generally better to spread out so that one / two sides are not weak.

This, most random noobs are crap so it's better to help where help is needed.

It really depends but the majority of the time you should go one flank with your platoon.

The idea of this game is to judge your strength of a flank, if you are stronger you must win asap, if you are weaker you must lose slowly. If you can win faster and lose slower than the enemy you will win WOT, you will also win almost every single RTS, or strategy or FPS game ever made.

Generally i play 3 mediums in a platoon, we go one flank fast and its easy 75% win rate or so.

Say you played 10 games a day, over a month that's 2.5 hours sat waiting.

Perhaps an extreme and generic example, but an example nonetheless.

I've spent just under 8 days waiting in the queue. 30 seconds is fine, its time for me to do pre-battle thinking, look at the lineup, and also if they are any good players, because then i must not to overly aggressive tactics.

Well I would expect teamwork to be a huge advantage in random battles

how many times have you been on a flank your team has outnumbered the enemy forces on said flank and could easily destroy them but everyone camps in whilst 1-2 guys move forward and quickly die. the other people behind them aren't even in a LOS of the enemy tanks... they slowly get bored and start going single file into the enemy kill zone...

surely it's better to be on a flank with a platoon that knows it has the strength to dominate the enemy forces they all rush forward together. 3 guys rushing forward and quickly destroying an enemy tank nearly always makes some people rout

you know what happens a lot of the enemy tanks realise they are outnumbered and turn tail leaving a couple of heavies or TD's behind to easily get overwhelmed

when you only have 3 good players on your team you make sure to split up and cover the main areas of the map that are best suited to their vehicle.

if you all go the same way and the other team does an even split the other flank will get rolled even if you have weight of numbers.

one good player in the right tank and place can stall a lemming train by themselves against some of the players you see in randoms.

and as for the is-3 guy and his 98% win ratio, well his clan EXNOM are pretty much the best clan on the EU server with strict joining requirements so it is not surprising that they will do well in a platoon and he even states in his post that he is using premium ammo all the time so you can bet his toon mates are also.

and the timer doesn't start once everyone is loaded, it starts when most are loaded and people still load in during it so if you waited until everyone has loaded before starting any kind of timer it would take longer to get the game started half the time.

he doesn't actually use much premium in the games I've watched, it's only against hard targets like T9 from the front. There was another thread on premium vs non-premium and the player thought it improved WR by 25% or something :o

It's pay to win that's why I'm not bothered with stats, just play to enjoy if you ask me!

I'm really liking the M4 with the upgrades and the 105mm. Slow to reload but packs a meaty slap... and you can't beat one of those! :D
