****** Official World of Tanks OcUK Clan ******

Cool, i did the same but just wonderered if there was any fix. You using a 580?

NVM saw you sig.

The game has a lot of potential but the devs need to create new game modes and bigger maps instead of adding loads of tanks all the time. Would be nice to play 32 vs 32 or even 64 vs 64 on maps four time the size.

Would also be nice if they can do something about the deliberate teamkilling/wounding I'm seeing a lot more of now in matches as well.

Even just yesterday, in one match a teammate took of 2/3 of my health in one shot before proceeding to do the same to a couple of others before someone tk'ed him. Then in another match two players decided to take out four of their teammates before being tk'ed themselves.

Matchmaker fails in general. It doesn't wait for a decent bleeding match-up thats the problem. I have no interest in going up against 3 T9 and 6 T8 when I'm in a frigging JagdPanzer IV, that tank is so weak it can barely damage things equal to its tier before it gets 2 shotted. Nor does it spread tanks out evenly, it lumps them all into the same match. So you get 6 arty per team in 1 match and zero in the next. My personal favourite is the screenshot on the forum that had 9 arty per team...

Arty is only broken because of the lack of tracers.

The devs need to fix whats already in the game first. The matchmaker is pathetic and the balance on tank company battles is laughable. A t9 heavy is not equal to a T5 and a T4.

Was funny grouping up a couple of weekends ago with a couple of others from OcUK clan when they had top tier tanks and I was in a T-28. Didn't last long in those games so went A-20 instead as an artillery scout. :p Had another game last weekend where we had 7 artilliry per side and my TD ended up with six kills at the end due to it, enough XP to get the Hetzer anyway.

Still, is an enjoyable game overall and one that surprised me since I dismissed it on preview footage. :)

Theres nothing you can do but report them. Though as I understand it, the method to report players is so long and tedious that nobody bothers.

Team kill/damage is not reportable any more, it is supposedly dealt with by their automatic systems.

On the bright side, you do get the XP for the damage they have done to you, and they lose the equivalent amount.

Oh can you not? Well that seems a bit dumb.

That only works if they shoot you and you don't retaliate though which lets be honest, is hardly ever the case unless they kill you.

I have TK by accident a few times, mainly when zoomed fully in and some drives accross your path, real close, just when you are about to shoot. Of course most of the time they are on low health.

All you can do is say sorry but **** happens. I have been TK loads of times too but as long as the say sorry then its no bother, just jump into another tank.

Well yeah accidents happen. People driving in front of you as you fire and really unlucky arty shots or morons who drive full speed past enemy tanks on the inside after you fire...

Point was the people who do it intentionally. Tbh though I've not seen it happen. Most I've seen is the occasional retard who gets narky after a collision.

Had a couple of accidental TK's myself usually when zoomed in and always say sorry straight away people have been good and i think you have to have more then two in a battle for the auto thing to pick up on it though don't quote me so don't worry about that.

To your point Evil a no arty option isn't the same as your other examples because they are tanks that you expect in the game and they don't have the ability to oneshot you from across the map we all know how to counter mediums and td's countering an enemy you cannot see not so easy.

Bean0 i played arty in beta got upto S51 russian line and hummel on german before i stopped playing it because yes you do miss but unlike most normal tanks you can miss and still do a lot of damage i felt like a cheat just me not saying anyone else should feel the same but it's why i am not and will not be going down any arty line now.

Someone did quote some developer chat on the forums about three months ago where the dev as good as admitted that there would never be a no arty option. He said it was because it would become the norm for a lot of players and arty would have a very limited amount of battles they could take part in but cannot find it although i havn't really looked hard to be honest.

A TD is an SPG configured for direct fire, so by that reasoning they also aren't tanks. The definition of a tank isn't black and white. Just because a particular type of enemy tank doesn't suit your play-style doesn't mean you should be able to block it. Heavies may not like mediums rushing in but they have to deal with them just like they have to deal with invisible super TDs and bait/snipe tactics.

As for those arty. The S-51 is an offshoot of the KV so wouldn't give you much experience with the rest of the line and does get splash damage. Hummel gets next to none, either you hit the target or you get no damage in 99% of cases. GW Panther improves accuracy even more but it still has very little splash. Of course it also has half the reload time of the S-51.

Have you compared the accuracy on these tanks? Heavies and TDs have what? 0.3-0.4 usually at higher tier. Firing at a range of less than 100m in some cases and maybe up to 400m for a sniping TD. Compared to the accuracy of high tier arty at around 0.5 firing at 700m, possibly even as high as 1300m to try and counter arty. Your chance to miss a direct hit is gigantic. If there was no splash damage there wouldn't be any point in trying to play arty.

The tiresome defence that 'they can shoot you from across the map and I can't shoot back' is bull****. The matchmaker may suck but it at least balances arty, so if your team isn't countering them, well thats hardly arty being OP. Yes we know tracers are breaking everything but that has nothing to do with arty.

I'm really getting bored of Leopard, the match making just puts with tanks I can't hurt whatsoever so all I can do is run laps around them which is about as much fun as watching paint dry tbh.

I'd like to see them implement a system where you can have platoon battles for tanks up a certain tier. Then it would give clans that aren't up to full clan wars participation something to do. I don't think a points system would work because teams would be loaded with highest teirs and then filler tanks. If there was a teir 5/6 and below tournament it would be awesome.

Just got the BL10 on my ISU so hopefully have some fun over the next few days.

Neo a few people i know that love the leopard have it fully kitted out for scouting camo net, bino telescope and the optical thing that also adds 10% to view range forget what it's called. If your looking for action though i guess thats a pretty boring gamestyle but leopard just like the A20 can be awesome addition to a team.

Coated Optics.

My Leopard has Ventilation, Binoculars and Optics. I'm really not sure about them though. Should probably not have used Optics and used a camo net instead but as my crew has a fairly high camo value it might not make much of a difference.

I need to get used to playing maps as a proper scout rather than just suicide scouting. Did have fun on the big map with a battlefield in the middle and a hill to the NE by just driving into the centre of the field and stopping in a bush. Lit up half there team as they moved out which did a decent amount of damage.

My Leo is kitted out although as I'm nowhere near you guys in terms of tiers or money I only have the cheaper ones such as ventilation, spall liner (whatever good that does :p) and I share my camo net along other tanks. Did get a game where I was second from top though and end result is a lot of medals :D

Other than that it's really just suicidal runs into the enemy hoping I can ding the artillery at least. I still love my Stug III despite the amount of battles I had in it already and not even halfway grind to the next tier. Getting the smaller but more accurate L70 gun just turned the game around for me as it matches my sneaky style although if I get something above tier 6 in the game they just laugh at me. Also slowly grinding down medium tanks so I can unlock Hummel and also work my way down to heavy tanks, but that will take a while.

Leo gives me a lot of fun, have 100% crew upto 60% camo atm, spall liner for survival, ventilation, and binoculars. Go crazy and spot all (had 14 detects on one run), cause mayhem in low tier fights, lead heavies on higher tier and light up the enemy. On some maps you can just sit in a central location and light up loads of enemies and they dont even know your there :) Good scouting can be the difference between a win or loss.

RizlaKing ... Bean0 i played arty in beta got upto S51 russian line and hummel on german before i stopped playing it because yes you do miss but unlike most normal tanks you can miss and still do a lot of damage i felt like a cheat just me not saying anyone else should feel the same but it's why i am not and will not be going down any arty line now. ...

Hummel is good fun but I'd hardly call it cheating
- slow reload
- takes ages to zero in on your target, which resets everytime the target is outside your gun line and you need to turn your tank
- the further away the longer a shell takes to hit, so it can be several seconds after firing before it lands at target
- even once zero'd in, the damn shell goes wide.
- ammo aint cheap

Arty to me = Spend ages zero'ing in for the target to vanish, or now be hidden, or to fire and find it goes wide, or the target moves after you fire, or the target gets destroyed just before your shell lands and shot is wasted, or you get visited by scouting tanks and blown to hell. Not to mention all the damn city maps which make Arty difficult.

Even when you do hit, its usually just to knock a chunk of thier health. I dont really see arty always getting more kills than other tanks (record in my Hummel is only 5). Then there is the bonus that at t5 my Hummel needs 116k xp to research the Panther.... thats a crap load of xp for a t6 tank. kv-3 is about 25k xp in comparison

Agreed :p

GW Panther is awesome. But its 166k to research the GW Tiger and that tank is AWFUL at stock. Until you research its new suspension (~12k if I recall) you can't mount anything on it, not even an artillery rammer. And until you get your new gun for another 67.5k exp you are nothing more than a waste of space. Then its 35k for the upgraded engines followed by 250k for the Type E which apparently isn't that great anyway.

On a side note I do love playing TD mode and blasting things in the side with an AP round. Either I miss because I aimed badly/got unlucky, the shell hits the ****ing track and does no damage, or it goes straight through and has the potential to 1-shot anything below T10.

Had a nice match today with 4xHummel's on the team. Got down the the last few on each team and I ended up jousting with an SU-152 playing who's the better TD ;)

I fired and missed a direct shot and had to run for it, managed to get enough time to reload and turned straight at him to hit him square with a shot and then get along side so he couldn't fire at me. Managed to keep that up until I reloaded, and finally quickly spun away to give the bugger a final blast :) Victory!! only to realise everyone else on my team was dead and an IS-4 to trundle up and blow me to bits lol.

Was a fun match.

Tell me about it, I had a huge scrap with a VK in my jagdpanzer. Took a couple of minutes till I finally beat it because half my shots just bounced (useless ****ing tank) and it took 4 damaging shots to finally kill it. Then as I drove away a Hummel blew me up ><

:)

I'm 26k xp off a Jagdpanther, hope its better than the jagdpzIV.

Actually....looking at the Jagdpanther it needs a loads of upgrading that isn't cheap xp wise, 15k suspension, 24k engines, and its a further 16k for the long 88, and another 17k on top of that if I want the 105.... looks like getting the panther is the easy part lol
