Oh, I was hunting the remaining tanks!
It was Sand River, we were defending, they all ran after my massacre and we ran out of time = we win!
I was one shot off death however, but I was like that for the last 4 kills, hence the adrenaline rush!

it is completely random when you get mastery badges, you can get them on your 1st or your 100th game.

all it takes is one good game where everything goes right and you get it and as the amount of xp changes every 7 days i really don't put any value on them personally.

they should be based on average xp or damage or some other indicator of overall performance in a tank then they might mean something.

Had a first last night on Erlenberg. Me in my stock KV-1S (how bad is this tank?) and a Churchill VII are trading a few shots across the river, neither of us doing any major damage as most of his shots rebound and my gun is too inaccurate over those distances.

In the meantime some numpty on my team in his Churchill I comes meandering through right after having watched this exchange for a minute or so and decides he's had enough. Side on to both me and the enemy Churchill he drives past just as I'm lining the shot up fully zoomed in. He gets hit nearly simultaneously by both guns and dies on the spot with me registering a friendly kill WTF?!?

There was masses of room to pass behind me well away from the danger instead he goes straight through the middle getting derped and then proceeds to give me abuse on chat the rest of the game. So many idiots yesterday.

I don't agree.

Firstly, you generally have to get over 1000xp to get an ace or first class mastery badge, so that indicates you have to have done something right, whether it be damage or spotting damage or kills. (Or all three.)

Secondly, average xp is what it is based on, it just gets reset to the new average every week.

It does mean quite a bit because the best players generally have more Ace Tankers then not so good players, even if it was just one good game.

So yeah, if you get Ace Tanker you've done well. It's hard to get it when your team loses so chances are you did the right thing for your team in that game.

Sounds familiar.

I had hammered a KV-1 down that had been allowed to drive right through the middle and was near to finishing it off when this idiot who had been stood still for most of the match comes right across in front of me and I set him on fire and blow him up.

Queue a tirade of abuse aimed at me.
 
I just wish there was an addon to disable chat. When im solo 9/10 the only contents in the chat window is smack talk by some noob who died within the first 30secs and proclaims how everyone else is at fault. Or its some idiot spamming the minimap.

Neither of which I care for :/

Same here, I'm surprised that you can't hide just the Chat.

Not sure, but you might be able to click on ignore player and that might stop their spam. But why should I have to do that whilst busy playing the game.
 
Yeah, right click - Add to ignore list.

EDIT: I made it my mission in life (towards the end of my time in WoT!) to be on everyones ignore list.
 
I love this game, currently enjoying playing with my IS-3, it has to be one of the most fun tanks to play. I managed to gain the Kolobanov medal with it earlier, the only other tank I managed that in was a KV-1S (on the same map too!).

I don't have a premium account so made the most of the extra silver being dished out the past 3 days and I managed quite a decent winning streak having went through a bit of a rough patch and my win rate dropped to 45%!

Unfortunately you can't carry a poor team if the opposition is half decent.

Yeah it was fun, it looked like we were going to lose badly most of the game. It was nice that the guy in the Lee sacrificed himself to help me get out of the bad position i was in. not many players are like that these days. :D
