I don't actually think 8.0 will affect tactics all that much to be honest. It is still the same game and although a few more places will be more accessible to tanks it will overall be similar gameplay, which is a good thing.

Well thats a stroke of luck. Guess I'll be able to afford my Tiger P after all. Might even get the Tiger if I can be arsed to grind to it.
 
How is the performance with this whole map overhaul on the beta? Rather concerned since my laptop can barely churn out above 20FPS and even less at times.
 
They say the new rendering engine is more efficient and therefore should be better on lower spec machines or laptops. Not sure how true this is though.
 
Only just started playing this. It is a bit daunting, but I am enjoying it.

Is it worth buying a premium tank at all? ....some people seem to think so, and I certainly will not begrudge a fiver considering the game costs nothing.

I'd wait for a bit, get one later on when you get to around Tier 6, then buy a Tier 8 med/heavy (£20ish) as that will help you out a lot more at grinding cash.
 
Ok thanks. All the upgrading takes a bit of getting used to. There are a few areas I'm still not sure about. For example, My first tanks have been American, is it best to stick religiously to that tree, or mix it up a bit? ....or is it too late to change trees if it is? (atm I have a Tier 3 Medium as my best).

how about gettinga month of premium account for £10.
do it by sms and u will have enough left over to buy an extra garage space 300 gold.
you get 50% extra XP and credits than a standard account.

i have played most trees, as most of the clan members have, its upto your style of gaming.
the line u have gone down is good imo, but the M3 Lee is a bit marmite, i loved it, got 2 top guns in it, but a lot dont like it.
M4 sherman is good, but then the M4 E8 is a joy to play, one of my favs

the russian heavy line is also good, just buy a tier 1 russian and go again, but it helps to have more garage space, so u can do 2 trees at the same time

I'd stick to just the one tree to start with (maybe two so you can hop between them).

Same nationality means you can use the same modules so may save you a bit of researching...

Wow, thats a LOT of exp. You got the replay for that? My would've been around 2330 if I had premium but thats still almost 400 short.

Agreed. Researching modules slows you down a lot so it helps to have common modules if you stick to 1 nation for a while.

I told you the churchill was an XP machine. :p When I got my record in it, it didn't even feel like a spectacular game.

been finding the gun a bit weedy of late on the churchill. Have a lot of problems against KV-1's.

Love the rapid fire though confuses the hell out of enemy tanks even if you dont do damage.

makes em panic.
