Winterspring Frostsaber? Is it still available?
I think it's attached to a daily quest line now, takes about 2 weeks to get it. At least that's what I can make out from wowhead comments.

Quest seems to be called 'They Grow Up Fast'

Heh, an incomparable grind compared to the Vanilla days! Sacrilege! Cannot compare it to being a mere level 60 w/ vanilla talents, severe lack of AoE on most classes, and a longer travel distance! It was an extremely long grind.

Another long grind, mount-wise, was the PvP mounts. Commander and up, Rank 11 required to be able to buy them. That's 2-3 months of your time doing 5-6 hour days in Battlegrounds. Great fun :D. Compare that to the Netherdrake grind in TBC, perhaps 2 weeks of your time in comparison... so easy!

You sure it was commander? I'm sure it was knight-champion rank 9?

Anyways my black war tiger was pretty epic back then when humans on tigers was still wowz!

It was Rank11, Commander. Knight-Champion rank9 allowed you to purchase Battle Standards for BG's, that's all. And yeah, the high-rank requirement did mean it was a rare and beautiful thing! I had a little gnome rogue on the night-elf tiger, which was a rare sight back in early Vanilla, with no sign of TBC's purchasable PvP mounts in sight :)

Remember that. A little gnome mage on all kinds of faction mounts outside the WSG queue place thinking....wtf

Also ZG mounts weren't rare were I was from. Both me and my guildie (2 man guid) grined ZG each week for a few months and both ended up with a set each.

I played this game from launch till a few months after cata. Early game memories were definitely the best. So much unknown....

Got my mate to send me a scroll of resurection so i got myself and 80 shadowpriest to go with my 85 enhance shaman, 85 boomkin and 84 prot pally. My server (Chromaggus) has pretty much died since i last played which is a shame and transferring my character off will cost a lot. hopefully blizz opens a free migration from this server. If im lucky the server might come back alive after MoP launches.

They were still quite rare. Though nothing touched Baron's mount from Strat :p

Ah, that sucks! I noticed pretty alarmingly how most of the EU servers were now 'Low' or 'Medium' population. The last time I logged on the game was pretty full across the board, especially in the PvP servers!

Anyone tried the MoP beta then? got any feedback from it? More of the same or any new innovation? I've so far tried to ignore anything wow related, but after the gw2 beta I need something to fill the gap and find myself looking at my wow discs again...

I have it on several sources that beta is great.

If you enjoy random crashes and really bad fps issues. (but then cant complain really.. thats to be expected for a beta)

Anyone else signed up for openraid.eu yet or better still even running stuff on it?

Seems to be really taking off.

yeh, when i started on chromaggus it was a medium to high server with plenty of people around now there hardly any items on the AH and certain gems are 5x the price they are on a populated server.

Depends what you expect from it IMO, too many people sign up wanting a free ride for a few months playing a game without taking part in the beta test.

Take any one from your realm who trolls trade chat and imagine one EU realm chock full of players who dont know each other and as such have no reason not to bitch and whine constantly.

If you disable general/trade chat the MOP beta is fantastic, really shows a lot of promise.

Pandaren starting zone is beautiful but short as you would expect. Think the goblin starting length and your about there.

The 85+zones ive only started looking at but its a bit of a mess with so many people crowding npc's etc.

New talent system imo looks great, been playing a bit on prot warr, resto shammy and sv hunter and have been enjoying all of these.

So yeah if you join the beta my advice is to disable the trade/general chat and you will have a much better experience. Test with some friends or OcUK'ers
