** Official World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Thread**

Shattrath was also a vastly better capital city than anything in the game at the moment and I enjoyed the fact that you had to go back to older content to use the auction house.
Imho, forcing a player by withholding a vital feature from a city to goto old content is a bit of a poor method.

Any decent developer would find a way of getting players to WANT to visit old areas, just forcing them is annoying.

Well it's pretty easy. The LFR is so easy, actually unreal.

This...

I joined, did two bosses which took no more than 30 mins and then the raid was over (joined a part done raid). Healing is fairly straight forward. I had no idea of mechanics, however I am capable enough to avoid sharp ice crystals... big lightening rods... gooey slimes etc... and listen to RL warnings.

It does seem a little too easy though... However I think it will be a nice gap between HC and Normal Raids

Gotta remember guys the LFR is easier then both normal and HC versions of the raids

Read that you don't get achieves though :p

Bit harsh!

I'm now tempted to resub for a week before swtor just to see the content... hmmm.... damn you for tempting me again wow :D

Definately give it a go! I instantly jumped on and transmogged my gear and had a blast in the new heroics and the LFR is designed for people who don't usually raid so it is great fun if you play casually.

Taken from MMO-Champion:

Mists of Pandaria Internal Alpha Started

A lot of people have been asking me when we should expect a MoP beta or more updates on the game, and the answer to that question is simple: soon. All the recent events indicate that the internal alpha testing already started:

The old WoW2 Battle.net accounts used for the Cataclysm Beta have finally been removed from some players Battle.net pages.
The recent update of the official talent calculator had multiple spells tagged as "NYI" (Not Yet Implemented). This is what we see in Alpha/Beta stages of the game to indicate that a spell doesn't work in-game yet.
Community Managers have posted actual screenshots of new spells tooltips in-game. It means they have a server they can easily connect to for that, and it's most likely the biggest proof.

Now what does it mean for players? First, let's be clear, this is the internal alpha and it is different from the Friend & Family Alpha where non-Blizzard employees can play as long as they know someone in the company. This one would be restricted to employees only and Blizzard executives are probably watching anything happening there very closely.

However, it definitely means that if everything goes well we should see a Friend & Family Alpha or a Beta within one or two month, and the Mists of Pandaria press tour on March 19 is most likely a way to prepare fansites to that. For Cataclysm, the press tour happened about 2 weeks before the start of the closed beta.

The same thing happened at the end of WOTLK. Sure they added Ruby Sanctum but it was hardly seen as new content.

They will release a pre-cursor event just like they did with cataclysm, with the new talents etc before MOP comes out.

Have any details on the 'big bad' been released yet? Or are Blizz still playing the re-igniting the Horde/Alliance conflict (that they used for Cata) as the main feature of MoP?

Apparantly theres evidence to suggest that the closed Alpha phase of testing has started for MoP. That will be followed by the friends and family alpha and then the closed beta test a couple of months later.

Considering theres a big Mists of Pandaria press tour scheduled for March 19th, I think thats likely to be the date they announce the friends and family alpha has got underway.

Does anybody think with the delay to / mysteries around the release dates of Diablo III and Heart of the Swarm that this could actually be released before both of them? Or do you expect Blizzard to delay the other games so to release them in the order initially intended (which I assume was D3 > HotS > MoP)?

I think they'll released them when the games are ready to be launched, regardless of which comes first.

At this stage we might see MoP as early as July/August, depending on when the beta kicks off.

Nope, I think D3 will be Q2 as they have said, then Mists Q3 and Hots Q4. Or when they are ready in true blizzard form :) Saying that as a positive - worth waiting for normally!

imo that is literally the worst thing to ever happen to WoW... why allow it? satisfy casual players' silly demands to have everything 'their way' by allowing them to change the skin of their gear. wasn't half of the lust and attraction for new gear the fact that it looked better than your current stuff? wasn't half of the thrill of engaging (or running away from) a fight knowing your opponent's 'toughness' from the impression of their appearance alone? now it's lost... just another part of the game's overall myth and epic feel packaged up and sold off for micro-transactions. i swear they're slowly auctioning off all of the elements of the game that require any effort.

I been playing best part of 5-6 years now and struggle to log on except to raid.

When achievment points come out i was got to do this and that and everything else, recently got over 10000 but i cant even log for an hour at a weekend to fish for feasts for raids :(

I think i might give up wow for a few months come summer or at least untill we get an official release date on MOP, i have logged nearly 300 days play time on all my chars but i find it increasingly boring now, maybe some of us have just grown out of it

but i am sure ill have time off to get my main to level 90............ complete all instances then get bored again :(
