** Official World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Thread**

ok so my characters are hitting level 30 (so far really enjoying the game)...my shaman is about to start Stonetalon and my Paladin Arathi Highlands.

my professions are what are worrying me now though.......they are around 100.........not sure if that is good or bad for a level 30? should i stop questing and do some profession grinding for a bit? i dont really fancy faffing around in low level zones when im high level.

Yes, keep your profs at a level comparable to your actual char level, due to xp nerfs etc you will always out level your profs and have to 'grind'.

I would add be careful with crafting professions as you still want enough gold for your mounts etc but ideally yes lvl them as you go.

Its great reading this post, Ive been playing Warcraft so long now its weird to read about new players questions and experiances. I still remember the first time i played Warcraft and the very first time you see stormwind or a major city just thinking to myself WOW this game is huge!

My advice to you as a new player is DONT rush the game to reach max level asap. enjoy the game and explore! there is so much the game has to offer as the never ending game!

Enjoy

I second this haha. Miss those days, and that was only last Christmas....although it wasn't quite the same experience with Stormwind as I was on Horde on a dead server, so you can kind of imagine those first steps.

Oh my god...

I just happened to fly through Felwood while collecting coins for the lunar festival. Swung by the spot where Minifernal battle pets rarely spawn on the offchance there might be one. And there was. And I got it. And it was RARE quality!!

I am very happy right now :)

rofl, why so excited over that though?:P It was only like level 40 right?:P

is it much better now? end game that is & overall it was fun till you hit lvl XX then faded off even with raids.

They have done a better job of the raids this expansion, or so I have heard...not much of a raider myself.

I will say this though, there are a lot of dailies to do at max level for faction reputation. I think I preferred the tabard system in Cataclysm.

In saying that, Im still having a good time with MoP as a whole.

3rd'd, I have very fond memories of early experiences in WoW. I remember trying to quest in Stranglethorn Vale at the launch of vanilla, on Blackrock PvP server (US West), the unofficial Kiwi/Aussie PvP server at the time. That was something else!!!

i started with klaxxi myself as i completed the dread wastes chain and found myself almost at revered so figured just keep going :)

But yeah golden lotus is the pre-requisite for august celestials and shado pan rep once you get revered so you really want to be getting golden lotus levelled.

Cloud serpents offer nothing but the mount so you can decide whether that will interest you, and tillers/anglers offer their own stuff with tillers prob being the one rep i make sure i always get on alts

Anglers give a pretty wicked Trinket once exalted.

Trinket? tabard and mount iirc, anglers offer nothing apart from a few enhancements for fishing.

Didnt mention the Shieldwall/Dominance rewards which came in with 5.1 and are totally worth going for, plus the dailies are fun

This is exactly what i am doing, didnt play wow much over the weekend due to working and felt i needed a little rest already from it.

Will be back playing it tommororw night again and my Shammie is in Desolace now at lvl 33, and my Paladin is in Hinterlands at lvl 34.

Decided i will wait to get my faster mounts at 40 before farming my professions.

So far enjoying it extremely, i have tried healing pvp in battlegrounds and that is very fun, im finding myself really helping my team out as there seem to be so few healers in them.

My priest is 88 now, nearing 90.

When I get to 90 I'm going to try and mostly gear through hcs (even though I'm not a massive fan of the normal mode dungeons so far). Dailies doesn't really interest me too much. I'll probably just do the odd daily if I don't have time to run dungeons in the evening.

Will gearing through hcs take a hell of a lot longer? I'm gearing for healing.

The problem with doing HC's is that you only get Blue items. But you wont be able to spend your valor as you need rep.

I would crack on and finish the klaxxi quest line This will get you honored with them.
Then do the Golden Lotus dailies, they take less than 20 mins and you get valor from them.

You only need 460ilvl to do the first LFR. Also if you do the daily quests you get coins of commendation, which can be traded in to give you an extra roll for some loot on LFR.

What? Level 40?!? I'm talking about a battle pet. You know? Like the companion pets? WoW pokemon?

The minifernal is one of the rarest pets to hunt for. Its respawn rate is incredibly slow. To find one at all is an achievement. To find a rare quality one is even rarer. To find a rare quality pet on the first try...THATS EPIC WIN!!!!

I'm a Shammy healer, and I had no problem gearing... and I hate dailies. I avoided doing them like the plague and still do. I got myself geared using the HC dungeons, and found a guild willing to take me on board. I got into a few of their raids and they took me through MSV a few times and I geared up through raiding and LFR. I'm now sitting pretty on a nice pile of gear and my healing is pretty awesome! I'm now a part of their main raid set up, and go to MSV and HoF pretty much every week... I'm not saying it'll be exactly the same for you, but don't listen to people who tell you it's vital you do your dailies. It really isn't... and it's not that I'm lazy, I just really hate the idea of "inevitably getting gear" and repeating the same boring quests to get said gear.

But yeah, as a priest, I'm guessing you're healing in Disc spec, you shouldn't have a problem finding a guild willing to gear you... especially if they need the healer. Disc's are so OP atm that it'd be hard refuse a Disc priest a spot in any guild.

Is running hcs enough to get to 460ilvl? I'm only really interested in LFR because of how casually I play.

What level does the klaxxi quest line start at?

Yeah, it's enough. If I remember correctly, the ilvl for HC gear is 463. And you can upgrade it to 471... so if you fully kit yourself out, you'll be running LFR in no time. The worst part is when you only have 1 or 2 pieces of gear to get and they never bloody drop, like when I ran Scholomance about 20 times to get the mail/spirit bracers from the first boss.
