Just depends on your playstyle. USN you just have to use guns to advantage to help kill off opposition DD's then use landmarks to your advantage when using your torps due to their short range.

IJN you can snipe with your torps, avoid being detected and go for the big boys. Just need to survive vs other teams DDs and Cruisers

It's the same differences as WoT when it started out Russian brawlers to German snipers

I'm undecided about BB's at the moment.

Had a great match with my Wyoming yesterday, and sank 4 enemy ships. Then shortly afterwards, ended up in a close-in duel with a DD. Basically almost every pair of shots straddled 1 in front/behind him, and very few actually hit so I was getting about 1 shell per broadside hitting him, firing 1 turret at a time. He got off a good torp salvo on his 2nd attempt, and smashed me... which was somewhat disppointing, considering I knew where I was aiming and should have blown him apart with my main guns, except the game decided I wasn't going to hit him. :(

Yeah annoyingly my experiences are the same, even post-BB short range accuracy patch its a joke.

I dont have replays set to save but I might as its comical sometimes. Driving the South Carolina heavily damaged last week a DD appears 3k away as usual.

Having only one turret loaded in time to fire before I died I turned the turret to his broadside when he eventually got to around 2k away and fired.

From a 2 gun turret, the first shot landed in front of his bow and the second just behind him, it wasn't far off a 45 degree spread and a complete ****take out of the accuracy system.
 
well had an amazing game earlier.

ended up 2 destroyers vs me at the end.

Some how I managed to kill them all with 5 kills and earned 2k xp with no boosts on. :)

has anyone setup a group for this yet?

Best thing I can advise is:

Add WOWS as a non steam game to steam, no downloading or anything required it just launches the game install.

Add people from here that you want to play with

Give them a shout over steam if they want to join up and create a division, max 3 of you but it works for us.

You can make groups i did one last night for my friends.
Groups
Add friends
And divisions all work now.

Will make 1 in a sec called ocuk give me ur wow name and ill add you to it
 
right channel works but have to be invited by someone already in it. So post you names and we can at least get added to the channel & sort of play together.
 
Theres a few names on the front page for WoWs. My Steam is same as my username here if anyone fancies adding me on. :D
