the new ships arrive on the 19th anyway, but you lose the ones you won and the commander and xp get added to the tier 1 ship of that nation automatically
 
I got to 3 kills last night in a Kuma, finished off a New York and started heading for the carrier I saw running away. Yes I thought - this is the one. Just me and the carrier - no team stealers nearby. This is it.

Then their full health Japanese BB popped out from behind the island the carrier was hiding around. Maybe tonight will be the night.
 
Finally mananged to nail one didnt think I would. Just two carriers and a DD left and the stupid other carrier wouldnt go finish off their fighters so for the whole last 4 minutes I had to weave and avoid their fighters which made it more difficult.

Had a funny instant in my little t3 Wikes last night.

Came round a island, trying to be all sneaky, and ran stright into the other teams, full health Wyoming.

6 torpedoes from point blank range were dispatched and the ensuing rage and comments from him meant I ran aground with laughter
 
I've had that in my T2 Tacky Banana I got accused of cheating because I did same came round an island in middle of three ships and due to its quick reload time on the torps despatched all 3 ships. Then get tirade of abuse for cheating !

Also been accused of using an airbot with a carrier no idea what it is though.
 
lol - so much butt hurt from them whn it happens.

New patch soon - can't wait for it, I'm not sure which tree I'll be looking at though.

I would save free xp for higher tier ships where getting the first hull upgrade can drastically improve your experience. For example battleships like the Fuso, Nagato or Colorado are transformed with the first hull upgrade, longer range, more health, faster rudder shift times. Spending free xp to skip entire ships is a waste imo.
 
Soldiering away getting up the tiers for the USN, but what's the point of the Farragut destroyer (and subsequent ones) - only 2 torpedoes so not much of an ambusher (which I like).

Maybe I'll defect to the Ruskies...

I found the Dresden and Kolberg epic fun - ust load the AP, regular pens and good damage. Managed to go from T1, to the t2, to the t3 in just 4 games :)

can't wait for the t4/t5 finally get some torps :)

Have heard the t4 and 6 are really hard to get xp as there underpowered t5 looks to be good though.

Hopefully get some time to play tonight. Might grind to level 4 then use the free xp.
 
Tier 4 Karlsruhe is terrible, Slow as hell, Weak, Guns rotation is slow, 10km range on the guns with no upgrade, 2 torpedoes, Slow firing at times

IV Phoenix in the US class is better in every way.

Well that sucks *****, because I loved the Konigsberg for the brief time I had it.

Time to stock up on the free XP and splurge it all on getting past the Karlsruhe then! :p
 
Hey all , i installed this yesterday morning ( bought a PC gamer mag and it had a bonus code ) otherwise i probably wouldnt have bothered.

Anyway... i ended up playing until the small hours last night and a shot this morning before work , i have gone US so far and just purchased ( but not used ) a wyoming Battleship !

Is this a good route to go ( grinding down the US battleship route) or is there other routes you recommend going ?

I'm not 100% sure what i am doing yet but i did mange to pick up the game reasonably quick , i sunk quite a lot of ships with my trusty south carolina . Ive not done much with cruisers or destroyers yet.

Quite enjoying it i must say .
 
Some of the US battleships are slow and only really get good until they are upgraded. Wyoming is a bit of a beast for its class if anyone else is stupid enough to get in range of it.
