****** Official World of Warships Thread ******

Nah, It was battleships that interested me, but I got fed up of RNG being particularly bad

Either way, why would I want to keep playing?

Its the "double RNG" of Battleships that killed it for me, I haven't logged on in months.

RNG#1 - Will your spread of shots land on-target or miss? 1st roll of the dice
RNG#2 - Will your on-target shots deal marginal damage or full damage? 2nd roll
After both rolls are done wait 30secs to be able to roll the dices again!

No other ship class is penalised in this way. They either don't suffer from the long reload or don't engage at ranges where this becomes an issue.

Combine the above frustration with torp dodging, HE spam, Fires and the likes. Its just not an enjoyable experience overall.

Have to say just unlocked the furrytaco and i'm pretty disappointed in it coming from the excellent Kuma.

Only had a few games in it so far, getting a few points up for the gunnery fire rate upgrade, hoping that makes a big improvement to it because at the moment, it's pretty pants. Korma was far better.

I'll probably end up finding everything at T6 a disappointment and just rocking a lineup of tier 2 through to 5 in everything. :p

I suppose that's probably one of the good thing about Destroyers - you keep the same kinda of maneuverability and sneakiness up the ranks, but your target BB's get bigger and slower, you just need to smack more torps into them to sink them! :D

Still playing and still liking it, up to tier 5 in dd's, cruisers and cv's so far and tier 4 in bb's.

I had it before the buff, used to have 45 sec turret rotation and that used to drive me mad, but the guns actually hit quite hard.

Been having a bad week, just seem to be missing loads of shots, it's not rng but just me getting it wrong :(

Damn Halloween port theme hampered my music mod as they have redirected the main port theme somewhere else and this is the one I was testing.

99% sure I have it now just need to confirm the filenames.

I've a feeling thats what I will be doing nearly got all the line up I think. I imagine if I hit T6 and above its a big disappointment.
Given up on the BB's after New York shots just too ridiculously spread. However still enjoy Wyoming.

Then sail off with them :p

You can't, from what I can tell a carrier drivers job is to sit in one corner of the map, get all your planes shot down by trying to attack cruisers then panic like **** when you notice the two DD's that have popped up 2km away from you because you were too busy looking at the wrong end of the map.

Then sail off in the wrong direction and die 30 secs later.

You are not doing it right then as quite often I am the last one left in a carrier. I've also had some of the best matches in them and its the ship I got the 4 win Konisberg in.

You need to learn the hiding places on each map and also in which maps to constantly move. If your team arent protecting you then follow the main bulk of your team. Also dont rely on auto pilot for speed adjust it yourself as more often than not it defaults to 1/2 speed on auto. Learn to use shift key when being torpedo take control of your carrier and avoid torps. On way to targets dont fly over enemy ships that can shoot you down, take the long way if possible. Use your fighters well. Dont attack crusiers unless you know how to double bluff them into not avoiding torps. Attack BB and carriers. Tip, enemy ships think fighters are torpedo planes. I can confuse and tie up carriers with my fighters because they think they are being torp'd they keep weaving, they dont know they are fighters, meanwhile manouvre your torps into position to anticipate the carrier avoiding your fighters as the real attack and bang, carrier sunk. Try it just move your fighters at any ship and they immediately think they are torp bombers and avoid the attack

My best carrier believe it or not is the Langley.

That was taken as an observation from countless games of both watching carriers in combat, and also killing them.

Doesn't interest me in the slightest really, plenty of strategy games out there where i can stare at the map and not really take part in goings on during battles.

Quite often from what ive seen having a carrier in a game can just mean one less player on your team effectively.

That was with my 2 whole squadrons of torp bombers, which get shot down the second something looks at them, and my fighters which im sure are bugged as they cant shoot down enemy planes.

Makes for a whole 75xp, so it isnt worth my time playing.

e: that was genuinely putting in some effort too, not just getting killed for a sarky screenshot. I was there until the end of the game pretty much.

Sorry but that screenshot just shows you cant play carriers and dont know how to. You need to learn how to play them. The Langley is probably my best carrier.
You were destroyed by the torp bombers from the Hosho. That is Embarrasing! Did you use ship view to avoid the torps ?
The Langley is stronger than the Hosho because the Japs only have four airplanes in a squadron to six in a US squadron. You also need to spend your Captain points to beef up your planes too and also buy the relevant modules. You will then find you can beat other squadrons.
