Well, finally downed the 150 planes... so that's carriers being ignored for a long time now! 
Started working on the million point grind, but got hacked off at the battleship guns massive RNG and stupid spread of shot, so gave up for a bit. Tried doing some cruiser damage, but the shells just weren't starting any fires so abandoned that, it'd take a LONG time using cruisers!

And here was me just thinking about buying a few signal flags to get some better XP and some improvements.

Possibly the worst example of matchmaking I've seen in a long time. AA defense on my non-upgraded New Mexico? 4x 76mm guns.

Just unlucky to be bottom tier is all.
Some matchmaking changes tomorrow in patch 5.3 but mainly based around balancing ships on class/nationality between teams. So you cannot have 2 Yamatos vs 2 Montanas. It should balance 1 on each team for example.

I take it you didnt sign up for the Project R event then ? I've ended up with loads of freebies, 10+ of each flag, 500,000 credits, extra XP etc etc just for playing as normal.
I started putting some videos on YouTube just to keep my interest in the game but I started playing War Thunder yesterday so it's kinda got my attention atm. I ground out a Shimikaze the Kamikaze R went up the American dd tree to Farragut and German cruisers to Nurnberg. Think I'm over doing it!
Been having drama with it since the patch.
Loads to a black screen that won't do anything.. Muddled away enough to get in game eventually when it's happened.
Massive amounts of lag..
Annoying but nothing serious... The ships across the bottom won't stay on compact carousel and keeps going back to normal.
Anyone else got similar??

Compact carousel is a known bug, I have reported it on the forums with a few others. But no other issues I have had at the moment, I played a lot yesterday too.
Yup all Commander skills got reset due to big changes. You got 3M credits for the new account level 12 to unlock team battles.
Yeah and I find the enjoyment facter from T6 upwards does take a dive. Although the Cleveland is so OP brilliant.
I stick with T5 and below its more rewarding.
I just deleted/got deleted a t4 captain while moving it to a t8 Destroyer...
Im guessing after submitting a ticket and the FAQ i wont be getting it back.. lol
So that effectively ends my Playing of WOWs
I liked it! I don't think its even humanly possible to afford the kind of stuff in t9 and t10 without playing it pretty hardcore or premium and doing well. I also think wargaming reaaaaaally charge too much for their stuff premium but it seems to be paying well for them so cannot fault their business model!
Had a lot of fun in t4/t5 with jap destroyers. If you want to play casual and just have fun i recommend those tiers! Most people are so stupid too. Very easy kills !

Example in case. I just grinded the T6 Jap destroyer Mutsuki after having the T5 Minekaze which is brilliant by the way.
The Mutsuki has two guns, and launches 3 torps at a time and seems to last about 5 seconds in battles.. Well that was worth the grind. Just about to get the T6 cruiser, will that be any better than the T5.
Doesnt make for "one more go" gaming does it.
