Are you on about the waves before last boss? On the US servers people would clear each wave and before the next they would run down the lift and bug/reset the current pack.
To this day it still works.

Damn, its been 14 weeks since i stopped playing but now i want to start againDamn game. Luckily if i did theres still a spot open in my guild and my gear is still very decent.
If i was to start playing again, anyone got any advice for performance, as i used to get kinda crappy fps on boss fights ( 10 - 20 25man raids, 1920 x 1200, all settings high bar shadows, tho low settings didnt help)
Would overclocking my cpu from 3.6 to 4 help much?
Im on a core2duo e6600 [email protected], 8gb ram, 4890, 1920x1200. My fps only drops in dalaran, other than that it stays at about 60 and drops to about 25-40 in raids... Oh thats with everything maxed out
Not sure why yours is running so slow.
At work im using a Q9550 and a GTX480 and the fps is REALLY low, the cpu is standard @2.83ghz. I'm not sure why this is either. The main difference being quad and dual cpus... :S
Good point, but keep in mind that 2 of those paladin CC have 1 min cooldowns and there is no spamable CC (such as shackle or roots) so if Repentance breaks there is no way to reapply it.
Granted, paladins can finally use their usually useless CC here against the undeads but that doesn't mean that other classes can't do the same.

I see it as - as a DK i can solo some of the easier HC instances on my own! go tanking gear with SM, and blood tank spec, and just solo them, the gear is that much better than the instances. When we guild run HCs, i got frost, full dps gear and have 4 dps no healer. Its not even a problem. Even the ICC ones i might get 1/2 heals, and we just clear it in 5mins for quikc badges.
Its all about gear level. 77 levels in gear. Over it was like 50 in TBC. Its a BIG differance.

Yes indeed it is a great tactic when used in the correct place... HoR is not the best place. One should learn not to stand in AoE, after all if one stood in AoE pre-WoTLK you generally died if you were slow and got kicked out of the group.

Yeh its odd. When i built the current pc back in dec 08, it ran stuff a lot better. Granted icc is probably more demnading than other raids, but still. I even had my cpu clocked lower than as well. I cant really believe a quadcore would produce such a drastic difference in fps compared to a dual core.

Anyone else getting random fps drops only started few days ago. Lots of people in the guild getting it aswell I have had solid 60fps for months and now its randomly dropping to 14fps doing nothing since the last update lots of forums getting same issue.

Im still getting what i think is poor performance in wow. Current specs below.
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 @ 3.91GHz
Asus Maximus Formula 2
Ati 4870 1GB (805 / 1000)
2x 2GB DDR2 1066 OCZ Gold @ 920MHz
Using 1920 x 1200. All settings @ Max apart from shadows on lowest.
All drivers up to date (Graphics, Chipset, Audio, Lan etc etc)
In ICC
25 Man Out of Combat 60 - 100 FPS
25 Man In Combat 20 - 30 FPS
10 Man Out of Combat 70 - 120 FPS
10 Man In Combat 40 - 80 FPS
Lowering graphic settings makes no difference to my fps, as does turning off addons. IVe tried the usual stuff, no addons, disabling anti virus / other processes, clearing cache etc etc.
I thought i should be getting better fps in 25 man raids.
Anyone got any suggestions apart from buying a new cpu and overclocking that (a lot to spend, new mobo, cpu, ram)

Random Dungeon'ed on my mage, and got the Maraudon - Pristine Waters instance. We wiped fairly early on, and the entire group disbands. And I'm still dead, and trying to find the instance entrance so I can res!
Where is the entrance? I can't find it on maps, apparently my corpse is somewhere around where the centre left green line starts on this map:

But that's no help to me, there's no dungeon entrance there! Can someone point me in the right direction? I want to play! And I don't want to have to take the res sickness

just take the sickness and go afk. To get to the entrance you have to go through the mountains around it, there are two ways in iircJust done the same with one of my chars. Probably cost 7-8k from 1-450. And I used the AH for most (all) of it.
Stopped playing now and waiting for cataclysm before deciding whether to start up again or not. I'll be at uni though by the time that launches so I'm probably going to either avoid it or jump in at a vastly later date. I don't find the game fun unless I'm raiding as I'm really not a fan of pvp and when I can't raid theres no real point in continuing the subscription.

Im lazy so i used AH for most of it even though my main can mine half the ores to make the bars used in most of it lol
just make an account you level so fast it doesnt matter ....
with dungeon finder any idiot can level at a fast pace
