Quick question:
Ive just noticed my WoW account has been hacked after months without going on. Im not overly concerned as im confident Blizzard can get it all back for me, what im wondering is, HOW did they hack it?
Im very careful with account info, never gave it out, and its a pretty complex password...?
Basically im trying work out if i should start resetting all the account passwords on all the many online things i use?

In reality it could be very simple. Does your Battle.net account use the same email/password combo as any WoW-related sites? Ui sites or similar?
Otherwise, start with the virus scan.

Its quite amusing to see the results that come up when googling for it.
The common cliched stuff is virus, not careful enough, key logger, etc;
lol. And i know for a FACT none of them have happened with me.

Let me check the common ones.....nope, aparentely i dont have an account on WoWhead. lol.
How odd.
I just got an email saying that my account password has been requested to be reset.
Followed by one saying that the account is likely to have compromised off Blizzard.

How did you notice it was hacked? Did you get an email through, or did you actually login to the account on the official site and it didn't work? There are an abnormally large volume of scam emails going around now. You've already highlighted that you've received others today or at some point. If you haven't actually tried your account, then you can't be sure it was hacked. If you do try your account, make sure you actually physically type in the address for www.wow-europe.com and login through there. Don't go through any emails at all.
I noticed when i logged in today, nothing on my character.
No email, & i know only to login to sites using the blizzard domain names.
Well im most of the way through the rigmarol of resetting passwords, done about 20 accounts upto now!

Me and few of my guildies have gotten level 70 twinks now, running oldinstances/raids, with level 70s, and with BT/SWP gear. its really good fun certainly added more to the game how i miss MH/BT/SWP at 70. And healing on a 70 druid is dam fun! really think i might reroll druid for cata.

Palas are being changed significantly in the expansion so this won't be a long term issue, assuming the devs get it right. Prot Palas do have the advantage of being able to solo vast amounts of group quests as well, should that be of any use.

The gear sections are a bit off but the general theorycraft/rotation guides are still good.
I've levelled a Shaman to 73 as Ele and Resto for dungeons, which was fun and more recently a Paladin. I'm currently 50. I love Tanking as Prot. It's much more entertaining than Feral.
I took my Paladin through all the old Darnassus zones - I've never done them before (never had a NE). I found the zones and areas well worked. Everyone said "You must be insane, it requires stupid amount of travelling" .. I didn't find it that much different to Human starting areas and plus, I've never done it before so it was a new aspect to the game I've not seen before.

well if you want to try a different class anytime soon then try a warrior. theyre by far the most fun tank in the game atm
Levelled 2 druids now (I did two as I wanted to change realms and i'm too cheap/enjoyed levelling too much) and they are awesome...
Would definitely suggest a worgen druid for those who want to re-roll the new class... I'm personally not too fussed about the new class etc so may do a dwarf paladin...
I personally love classes that can do more than just dps (mage was my first 80 and although it was fun, i learnt nothing about the mechanics of the game etc)

Im going to do a fresh install of wow to see if it fixes my performance issues. Whats the best way? Using original, tbc and wotlk discs then patching or just download it off the site? I can get about 7mbps on my line or if wow servers are fast enough i could dl it at work (got 20 meg there)
Ah my guildie told me recently, and it worked - If you have WOTLK DVD, just put that in, It will install everything off that one disk!
