Olympic Road Cycling

The team could only go as fast as Cav could go up the hills so they had no choice but to let attacks slip off the front and try and catch them on the flat, but the fact they are getting almost 0 help from any other teams is screwing them.
Can't say I know anything about how the cycling works but aren't they all in for a medal? Surely dropping their own pace to help Cavandish is hurting their own chances which might be better over this distance?

Problem youve got is that the teams that have riders in the lead group arent going to be interested in bridging the gap and with 33 strong in that lead group thats quite a few countries represented. Spain and the Swiss have got 3 in there!

This. It isn't helping that there's so many other countries represented in the break, so thier team mates in the peloton have got a legitimate reason to sit in and do **** all.

Cav is the team leader the 4 other guys are all working to get him within sprinting distance of the finish they arn't going for medals themselves.

I think there're only the three medals for the first three crossing the line. Our best chance of a medal is for Mark Cavendish to sprint across the line first as he is the fastest man on a bike. The others use their energy to get him near the end and then he goes hell for leather on the final 200m or so.
