All said and done, as disappointing as this is, I'd take a British TdF winner over the road race gold medal.

It wasn't hype. He is the best sprinter in the world as evidenced by his TdF record.

Fact is the peloton as a whole screwed up and let the chasing break get away.

Glad the beeb got a comment in there about the timing graphics. No doubt there would have been people baying for their blood otherwise when it was out of their control.

They are the best team full stop circumstance conspired against us tbh. And being the favourites the rest of the teams were happy enough to let the favourites kill them selves on the front all day.

They didn't have any information because the organisers ****** up royally and didn't provide enough timing information during the race.

He may very well be but like I said the way the media have hyped him up was pretty hilarious in all honesty.

Shame really as I wanted to see him win the gold today.

indeed if some of the other teams who had good sprinters did there jobs it would have been ok.
