On The Wagon... then in 'ere!

I had a hiccup the other day - Was given cheap bottle of red so wife and I opened it - ir was awful - did help the digestion though.

Next bottle is tomorrow along with a sweet white with pudding - When it's gone hopefully I can continue being off the wine.

:D:D

We haven't had a cocktail for a while now so something for the end of the year:

An easy one, Festive Cheer:

4 cups cranberry juice
2 cups pineapple juice
2 cups orange juice
ice
sprite or sparkling water (optional)
sugar, for glass rims

Stir juices and ice together in a pitcher. Dip damp edge of glasses into sugar, if desired. Pour into glasses and serve.

Cheers :)

Got legless on New years eve...Spent all of New years day in bed feeling sorry for myself posting on my laptop.

Dry Jan is on...Day 2 already :)

Dying for a drink then this easy one will kick off the new year.

So, a Coconut Sparkler:

1/2 cup Innocent apple & elderflower juice
1/2 cup Innocent coconut water
1/2 cup sparkling water
4 fresh mint leaves
Crushed ice

Pour the juice, coconut water and sparkling water into a jug and stir.
Add crushed ice to a Champagne glass and pour the mocktail over.
Garnish with mint leaves or lime.

Cheers :)

Don't worry, you weren't alone.

Good luck with rest of January :)

Going for a booze free 2016 :)
Awesome! Good luck mate :)

@Cosimo, copied your latest delight over to page one.

Cheers, keep them coming :)

I am in boys. I do have a day in the middle of January that i will drink on. I have twins due in March and sitting around drinking beer in the evenings will not be happening when they are here. I have invested in a new hobby, and i have the will power to do it. I have been drinking a few beers (2/3/4) for 4/5 years now, spending around £50 a week i suppose. Couple down the pub and a few at home etc. The effect it has on your life is funny really, even down to terrible eating habits once you had a couple you just junk out.

I have always drunk to chill out, but really it's just a terrible habbit and before x mas i did a week without and it was surprisingly easier than i thought and the benifits are great for sure.

Next stop for the Wagon, Im on!

Thanks mate. Sleepless again tonight..usually lasts about 5 days :(

What I need is something to keep me occupied, maybe a new thread on something could distract me...

Its so damn easy to fall off...And you will but the key is...Progress not perfection.:)

Love my coffee, and thoroughly enjoyed New York. Where are you going states side? :)

Not touched a drop since New yrs eve. Feel loads better. Allen Carr's book how to control alcohol has helped a lot.
Welcome along and please feel free to keep us updated on your progress.

Not the first to recommend his book and I doubt you will be the last. :)

Nothing since NYE as well. Even went to a work dinner, no booze. I have loads in the house too, but figured I can manage at least Jan. Will see how I get on in Feb. Going skiing with the family in Feb so might have a drink then, but then happy not to afterwards.

Further to my last post xmas eve - wife and I have had between us 2x reds -1x white - 1x zinfandel - 1x sweet white. - have to say we didn't enjoy them and don't crave wine at all now - Wine was my problem - 5 or 6 bottles a week and have cut it out completely except for above - I have just come through a bout of Man flue and really hammered Brandy and now it seems I have caught it again (really) so still on Brandy - Have had a white and red wine sitting in wardrobe for a week or two as we have asked next door round for a meal. I am just going to have the still water I have been drinking instead of wine.

Just a thought - do you think coming off wine has left me vulnerable to Man flue ??:eek:
