received some interesting coffee from Wogan the other day - first tried this morning
very interesting taste - Ethiopia, Anasora Farm - Anaerobic Wine Fermentation
It's definitely different just not sure I love it or dislike it yet
initial sweet taste almost, then the bitter and tangy taste
Just ordered some Hormozi house blend as was getting low and seen them mentioned in here a few times. Usually just buy what's on offer on Amazon but nothing was taking my fancy.
Have you tried many of their beans or do you tend to just stick with the same one each time? I ordered their Spanish House blend but just seen they do a Smooth 100% Arabica one which I maybe should have got instead as this one is 4 in strength. Went for the 1kg having no tried it before which is risky so I hope I like it!Yea I've been back to using Hormozi for a while now, they are the best I can find.
I'm paying about £13 a kg ordering 4kg at a time and they keep sending me free stuff, including a couple of coffee storage containers that will hold 1kg coffee beans with this like air release seal thing.

Looks like I can still cancel order at the time of posting this if I change my mind and just get the samples instead.
Their Jamaica Blue Mountain Mix Blend is my favourite so far of the blends. It's up to you.
I'd probably just leave it and see what the Spanish one is like, might be good, I've not tried that one myself.
I tend to hover between the Smooth blend, Excellence blend and Royal blend, I've had Smooth blend the most though, they are all fine, and good price point.
I see people use other coffee retailers, and I'm not saying the coffee isn't better, but Hormozi coffee is decent and significantly cheaper than most other places.
I must have hit my head last month because out of curiosity I bought some "halloween edition" beans from Starbucks. The bag says medium roast but it is so dark and oily it looked like it was 2 stages past Dark Roast. And of course it taste burnt, even making a filter with a Hario Switch.
Luckily there is a store locally sell coffee from a local roaster (Method), got some of these today for £7.70. https://methodroastery.com/products/brazil-mantiqueira Not too bad, no postage needed and I can get 1 bag at a time when I need it. Roast date was last week.
That's not a bad price. I paid £29.40 for 1KG of a Brazil Natural Coffee from a Suffolk Roaster last month. I'm getting to the end of it now so I've bought 3 bags of what was left from Dog & Hat's Subscription last month to tide me over until Xmas. I may buy from whoever sends me the best offer this BF.
Yeah, it's not the cheapest, certainly more than getting 1kg bags but also since I only really drink coffee at home on the weekend mostly. It takes me a few weeks to go through a bag. Having 1kg would takes a few months. So getting 1 bag at a time when I need it is best way to get fresh coffee. The store also sell beans quite fresh from roast date so no problem in that regards.
Plus I get to try different regions and flavours beans from bag to bag.
I use about 1KG a month as I drink on average 2 coffees a day, One 1st thing in the morning and the other when I get home from work early afternoon or mid morning weekends. Once a week I take in a flask to work as well. I keep a record of what I buy, where from, the price I paid and whether I like it or one to avoid in future for reference.
My other fav at the moment is the Kenya AA from Wogan - complex and a slight twang but not too much
