I thought your machine was spot on with the MM beans from White Rose?
Can you set your machine to a finer grind?
It was perfect for the malabar from Rave (max grind setting) but I am struggling to find a good grind setting for the same beans from White Rose - hence why I'm so puzzled. Max grind setting doesn't give me a consistent pour as it breaks up and drips sometimes so I back off a bit on the grind setting but it doesn't feel right.

Is there a way to adjust the burrs in the machine?

Seems there is an active code with Wogan coffee 15% off :

NEWHERE15

Popped up to sign up to email newsletter but I already had and stuck in my email again and was sent code and worked. Assume it might not need that prompt and be free to use

Malabar oils can gum up the grinder burrs - we've had a discussion on the waitrose version wrt to bean2cups before, so may need more regular cleaning for predictable grind,

every 6months when i clean rancilio grinder coffee remnants in the grinder burr gaps between blades and usually use a wooden peg/swab to poke out grooves & vacuum cleaner.

Hmm very good point I'd not thought about. I think the burrs on my bean to cup are sadly inaccessible but I'll have to look at it properly this weekend to properly see. Never heard of the bean2cups place before but they have a forum, which I hope is useful!

Been using the oddcoffee co last few weeks. Apparently they buy left over beans from other roasteries in bulk to re-sell. I guess not the same quality as some of the other roasters by the very nature of the operation but I don't think my palate is particularly refined, I can't really tell the difference. It still tastes nice and stops me falling asleep.

Has anyone ever tried CWorks? Love Coffee Kev's videos and he nearly always plugs his coffee business, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone mention it.

Bit late but I’ve ordered some to try and will hopefully get it tomorrow.

Do you guys normally leave your beans for a while or just dive straight in when you get them? I’ve tried my freshly roasted beans and the espresso I’ve got from them has been nasty so I left it another week or so and it was fine so that’s just now what I do every time.

I usually wait 5 days or so from roast date. I've tried freshly roasted beans a few times and they usually pull a really thick crema but also have a very bitter/musty taste. I find the same happens with an AeroPress or V60 as well.

Does anyone have a referral code for Hormozi??
Or a recommendation for somewhere I can get some nutty /chocolatey profile coffee from?

I've been using the Waitrose Italian style coffee beans for ages but tried some good brand at a friend's house the other day and think I need to up my game a bit. Unfortunately he got them from a local roaster that didn't export in Italy when he was in holiday so that won't be a possibility to grab some of those.

I've got a bag of the latest Red Brick from Square Mile at the moment. Very balanced, traditional flavour but not overpoweringly bitter. Just a nice smooth cup of coffee. Would recommend if you prefer a traditional cup.

Thanks, just checked out their flavour profile on that one and it seems to still have cherry and raisin? Sounds a little too fruity for my tastes, how fruity does it actually taste?

So I though I'd give a decaf a go, weird flavour not sure it's worth it just to reduce caffeine intake Vs flavour.
Went with Colombian CO2 Decaf.

If you like Ethiopian gesha then Smith Street in Sheffield have a banging one called La Roca. not the cheapest but has nade a great v60.
If your in Sheffield have you tried Round table roasters? They have a coffee truck in Meersbrook Park and are run by my brother, if you pop by tell him Sam sent you, that'll weird him out

Got my Monsoon Malabar beans finally - they've been on the road with Evri for 4 days and I've no idea what they've been doing so with that, I doubt I'll use Whiterose Coffee Roasters even if they are cheaper than Rave. Evri are just useless in my area compared to Royal Fail that Rave use.

Has anyone tried those air tight canisters for storing their beans?
I've had a couple of bags recently that don't quite hold the seal. I'd rather not let them air out overnight before realising.

I e had a vacu vin coffee thing for a long time (10+ years iirc) and it works well, juries out I've if it really makes a difference but placebos work even if you know they're placebos. I think I'll replace it with an airscape (for the change) if it ever breaks, but the fact it's lasted so well suggests maybe I should just get a replacement...
