Do the CPU controlled drivers snake?
The CPU karts in Mario Kart games never snake.. but they cheat like crazy with their cheap 'rubber band' AI which keep every single race close.

... As far as I know, Mario Kart Wii still has snaking, but you need to snake for an extended period of time until the boost kicks in for proper. this means snaking on long straights is out of the question.
Don't play stupid with me. It has been an intended technique since MK64, you'd have to be blind to not notice that.

And the final nail in the coffin, a few of the staff ghosts snake.
There used to be a guide on snaking on the official nintendo website but I can't find their game hints section at the moment.
I love how pathetic the anti snaking lot can be with their excuses![]()
I was joking, calm down you freak
Meh, I don't think there has been a decent Mario Kart since the first, so I'm not holding out any hopes for this. Also, online integration would be fine if it weren't for the silly friend codes.
Still that's the one thing with being a natural pessimist, you can always be surprised.
Yup, didn't think too much of it, so traded it in for Rainbow 6 vegas.
On the snaking front... I don't snake, mainly because I've not really got the time to devote to perfecting that black art. That being said, the other day I was racing against a friend on Desert Hills and realised that I was essentially snaking through the slalom at the end of the lap by doing very quick boosts on each bend. Perhaps if I can figure out exactly what my hands are doing there, I can translate it to other tracks as well.
Fair enough.
I think a lot of the SNES mario kart overrating comes from people being a lot younger when it came out. It was a fresh new idea and there were always other kids around to play multiplayer with. I think the DS version is easily the best but then I've always had a social bunch of mates to play games with throughout my gaming life.
I bet a lot of kids will remember new IPs released today in much the same way in 15-20 years time.
Well.. 5 days to go.
Who's getting it or are you saving your money for Wii Fit at the end of the month![]()
