Orange M600

Yeah. that intrigues me as well. Is that on a 12 or 18 month contract and are you out of your current contract?

K.

No, it depends on your current contract. I've been with Orange for more years than I care to remember, it was when it first became available in my area but all they're interested in is ones current contract details.

so if im lookingto renew my contract with them then i should be able to get it free if i go for a certain contract?

One other question - is it easy to get used to not having a keypad?

Contract doesn't matter so much as the type of user you are (how much you spend and so on Tenure can play a part in this as well). You can be on a high priced contract and be low value, and vice versa.

The M600 is free for high value users, but very expensive for those who don't spend much. It's an expensive handset to supply, and that's reflected in who gets enough subsidy to get it free.

The only way to know how much it'll cost you is to call upgrades and ask :)

Same charges/admin fee/conditions. £5 a month, £15 admin fee (irrespective of the number of claims).

Without care, you're looking at £100 + £5/month for an emergency care repalcement.

Oh ok, so the difference is just in the emergency cover cost.

Thanks for all the info. I am torn between this and the N80 right now. Its whether i would ever use all the other applications on the M600 or would the novelty wear off after the first month or so...

I take it battery life is good enough?

They were in stock on friday, but stupidly I didn't phone until today and surprise surprise they're out of stock again. I'm going to try again tomorrow.

I spend a fair bit which is why they're offering it to me I guess, I've not even finished my 12 month contract yet, but apparently they're happy to upgrade me now. I'm not going to complain, Orange have been very good to me really, I'd be tempted to take out their insurance too at the same time.

Orange "care" is amoung the best insurance. Only £15 exess and 24 Hr replacent strait to your door, cant do better than that, an its only £5 p/m. bargin I'd say!

I'm really not happy with Orange right now.

The web site lists my charge as £99 to get an M600 with no upgrade 'fee'. I called the local shop this morning to ensure I'd get the same deal when I went in. They took my details, name, number, contract details etc and promised to put the last M600 they had in the shop aside for me.

So, drove into town and went to the shop.

All was going swimmingly until he said that I'd be on an 18 month contract. I questioned this, saying that I'd told him on the telephone that I'm currently on 12 months and that I wanted to stay that way. Had to talk to the shop manager who agreed to do the same deal for me.

Once it got to the final details, he told me that I was going to lose the current 500 inclusive monthly texts I have. When I questioned this I was told that it's because my last contract was a deal done over the telephone and to keep them I'd need to get my upgrade phone direct from Orange.

So. Back on the phone again. And once more I was told that I'd have to take out an 18 month contract to get the upgrade deal with the inclusive texts.

I'm really not happy with this. I don't want an 18 month contract. I've never had one before and I don't see why I should be forced into one now.

Things like this really give me the hump. Orange have no interest in customer loyalty whatsoever, I've been a customer of theirs since the days of the original Nokia Orange (1995?) but they don't care. It sucks. I'm not happy

As for the care - It never used to be an extra, it was included in the cost of every phone they supplied and there was no excess. Bah.

How much is your monthly spend? Just because you have been with them for 10 years dont feel you should have to stay with them, thats when thing can start to get expensive.

Seems a bit tight to me, but as dolph keeps saying there are a bussiness at the end of the day.

Not a huge amount, probably about £50/month over a couple of phones.

About the same as me. £25/month on one phone + £50/year on PAYG

My upgrade cost is also £99.99 plus £200 upgrade fee (I'm only in month 3 of a 12 month contract)

Maybe you should go back to the shop wearing you gun club t-shirt and ask questions like
"Will gunfire cause interference between the phone and a bluetooth headset when I'm hunting canaries, raccoons, dolphins or panthers?" :D
