**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

Lol yeah. It's funny how I "take it out" on the next protoss I face just because of his race, despite the actions of the previous few toss players being no fault of his. I used to feel a little guilty about it but not anymore since this one time. I had faced 3 toss players in a row all of which had BMed me so I 1/1/1ed them. The next player was also toss but he was friendly at the start so i said "you're friendly so I won't 1/1/1 you :D". He said "ah thanks, really fed up of that today, I won't chees you either :)". I took him at his word.... a couple of mins later two proxy'd void rays turn up in base.

That was the last time I felt any kind of remorse or kinship with protoss players. It's been compounded lately with my loss vs a cannon rusher (which I posted about in this thread). There is no going back now. They are all scum

I 1 base all-in protoss on small 4players maps and 2 player maps, purely because they are protoss. Got abouta 95% win ratio with it too :P

:D.... don't be too jealous though, I failed all of my exams last semester due to playing CoD all day every day, so I have 4 resits in August and I have to pass them all otherwise I'm going to be kicked off my course. My "summer holiday" is going to consist of 2 weeks or starcraft/max payne 3 then studying for my resist for the following 11 weeks. Then maybe 2 weeks after my resits before term starts again. :(

Probably December this year I would imagine. But as Kamwah said, we don't really know for sure.

I don't even give Protoss players the time of day to do a 111 on them.

11 11 rax for me! Wins all the time especially with SCV hold micro.

They're more of an infestation than Zerg are.

I'd be up for it in a week or so when I'm done with exams. What's your name & character code, I'll add you. I'm a mid-diamond Terran atm but I'm going to start playing a lot after exams so should advance to high dia/low masters fairly quickly.

Also mid diamond terran here and on quite a lot (I've stopped improving to be honest as I've been stuck around this level for months despite playing a lot more). fraGGer.514 if anyone wants to add me.

Also everyone set the OCUK channel to autojoin on bnet. It's pretty lonely in there a lot of the time!

Willdo :). My last exam is in the morning of the 12th so I'll be on from the afternoon onwards probably.

"Here's a list of some of the features we are planning to release at or around the launch of Heart of the Swarm:

Multiplayer resume from replay
Global Play
Multilanguage support
Clan/group system
Unranked matchmaking
Multiplayer replay viewing"

Loving this update, as I always feel like I need a few matches before I'm warmed up, and by then I can be too annoyed at stupid losses.

I find that Global Play and Unranked Matchmaking are terrible features.

People need to stop this "Ladder Anxiety" ******** and learn they're playing a game and they're going to lose sometimes. There's plenty of channels to find warmup games and communities which are great to find friends who play also.
I also have a feeling that a lot of people are just going to be trolling in it XD

I find Global Play pointless. Any player who cares about this already has more than 1 account and we won't be able to play on Korean servers anyway. You need a Korean phone number to buy one so I don't know why they'd become more lax now.

That's great that you don't get anxiety, but a lot of people do, and it's not something you can switch off over night, it can take years of self training to just improve. Sure you might get some trolling, but when has ladder ever been classed as a fair/even way to play SC2 anyway? Is your only negative with it that people will troll it? What other problems would it cause?

People get real anxiety over playing a game on the internet that won't change their lives whether they win or lose. That's my problem with it, this species is pathetic.

Blizzard need to tell them to GTF onto ladder and deal with it or to just play custom games. Just because there's some points involved it shouldn't cause people to just stop.

Unranked matchmaking is basically a custom game against someone of equal MMR, with no bias as the map is random. How is that not better?

Because looking for a person in the many communities or chatrooms(ingame) means you probably won't get a troll or cheeser. Most people need loads of work on their lategame while earlygame there's not much to practice.

Can also practice the matchup you need to and on any map (there are great tournament maps that Blizz won't add to ladder cos they're idiots).

While anyone who cares may have more than one account you shouldn't have to pay for more than one account. Only being able to play with people from one region is a dumb idea. Also you are right you cannot buy a KR account, but you can get on KR servers. If you buy a TW account you play on the KR server. They became merged with the region merger.

Usually ladder anxiety stems from insecurity or not liking any kind of pressure to compete (perceived or real). I agree that logically it's a bit stupid but I've nonetheless still felt it myself from time to time - hell I stopped playing 1v1 ladder for abuot 8 months because I didn't enjoy the frustration it caused, and the fact that I couldn't just blame a loss on my teammates.

Anyway regardless of your opinion on ladder anxiety, I don't see how can reason that the Unranked ladder is somehow a bad idea. Surely anything which encourages more people to play the game, especially more casual players, should be supported. More players = larger community = larger esports scene, more tournaments and more money, as well as a larger pool of players on ladder therefore more even matches and faster matchmaking. There is no way that you can say this is bad for the game. "Blizzard need to tell them to GTF onto ladder and deal with it or to just play custom games". Most people don't take this game seriously and they don't want to "deal with" anything in order to play. If they don't enjoy it because they feel pressure they will just stop playing, as many thousands already have. We are hemoraging (or however that word is spelt) players at a frightening rate.

To be clear I understand and somewhat agree with your opinion on ladder anxiety, but I don't see why that makes unranked ladder a "terrible idea".

Same goes for global play. Lots of people including me have bought another account, but many haven't. Also many people might want to play with local friends and foriegn friends at the same time, which you currently can't do. Furthermore our 2nd/3rd accounts are only valid for WoL. Would you rather buy 2-3 HOTS accounts too? Or just the one?

Anyway now that I'm done tearing Kamwah a new one (:p) I'll put forward my own opinion on the changes:

OMFG AAWAWEOSMOEME>E :D this is nearly everything I've wanted from Blizzard in terms of Bnet improvements. Only things left are LAN (which I realise will never happen), automated tournaments, and detailed stats..... then we'll have the same features we had 10 years ago in BW

My ass only has one exit and still does Sheep.

All I can reply to your longass post is....

MAN THE **** UP SISSY AND PLAY THE DAMN GAME AND STOP QQ'ING WHEN YOU LOSE.

unless its TvP cos that's broken as ****

AND unranked matchmaking is a stupid idea because ladder really doesn't mean anything in the first place. These People just want epeen.

Your idea about there being more players = more community = larger esports scene is extremely wrong.
There are loads of people who haven't even ever played Starcraft that watch it regularly.

LOL. But personally i love the unranked matchmaking, i get really ****ed when i lose ladder so unranked would be good, i just REALLY hope they let us choose if we want to play TvZ TvP or TvT, the main reason I'd use the unranked is to practice and that would make it a lot better. And it would make ranked games a lot more challenging.

If you could choose what matchup then it'd probably be great for practice but other than that it's meh.

EG are far and away the best SC2 team, their newest pickup announcement video is hilarous <3

Also GSL Code S semi finals today, go HerO! \o/

While I like the personality of everyone in EG par Idra. I think everyone in EG had potential at some point (JYP) and now they're all pretty much just the lowest skill of nearly all the actual professional players.

I feel sorry for Thorzain because the EU teams trump the American ones and he's essentially downgraded in quality of team mates.

Liquid is probably the best US team but they have a lot of non Americans.
