**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

I've been on a lot recently and hangin in the OCUK chan, but now I've just decided to quit. No really this time I've had enough.

Going to take a break from SC2 and catch up on some other games until either a patch helps terran again or HOTS comes out, which ever comes first.

What you having trouble with Frank? I'm guessing TvZ. I've found 1 opening that kinda works in getting to at least the midgame.

Basically a hellion build but you go blue flame instead of reactor off of 1 gas(can be a gas first build). It stops the ling/bling aggression and you can expand how you would normally pre-patch and the best thing of all is that if you don't get supply blocked at all and they do the quick roaches then you'll actually have enough hellions to deal with it.

Generally TvZ but actually I've just got fed up with the amount of time I'm sinking into the game vs the lack of improvement I'm making. I am getting better, but the problem is so is everyone else hence I've been stuck in diamond for 6 seasons in a row. I used to be able to fall back on my TvZ to offset some TvP losses (TvT i've always been close to 50:50) but now I'm struggling in TvZ and TvP I've decided to call it a day.

It's nothing to do with builds really as I have builds that can work and should work in each matchup, but my execution just isn't there and with 2000 wins (so 4000+ games!) under my belt I don't think I can really get any better without devoting even more time to it which I'm not prepared to do any more. And then with terran getting nerfed in every patch raising the bar further and further, despite already being the hardest race to play mechanically [insert raging debate here], the latest patch was the final straw!
 
Yeah... I'm currently Cannon rushing with about 75% win rate atm against platinum people (about my skill level playing standard play) and know I can win a lot more once I eliminate the stupid mistakes I keep making. People rage sometimes but I find it makes the game more exciting and despite what people think, it isn't completely skill-less. People should know how to counter cannon rushes by now anyway, and i'm just helping them ;)

I wouldn't rage cos I'd laugh at how you'll never be able to play at whatever level you stop cheesing at XD

Ah it's taken me a good while to get as good at cannon rushing as playing standard though... When I started cannon rushing I was around top 8 platinum and I'm currently #2 platinum after a lot of games. People are definitely getting better at holding them off now though although when I lose, it's almost always due to my error.

Ah some people don't rage but a lot of people seem to think it's an illegitimate tactic or something :-/
 
I agree, and really it is your opponents fault for not actually scouting and realising that you haven't built any gateways at your main, and oddly are in their base :rolleyes:

I still hate losing to it though, it shows that I've been lazy :p

Most of them realise there are no gates... It looks like a forge expand ;)

Still, a forge expand against protoss seems to arouse suspicion :p

It's weird because when I log on to my account on a friends PC i can still access my custom hotkeys.

I don't see why it wouldn't work on your new installatino of windows, IIRC they're saved to your Bnet profile.

If not then i feel for you. I made my own layout and if i lost it it'd take me hours to figure everything out how i had everything.

I've basically miserably failed my 2nd year of uni and have to resit no less than 5 exams in august (out of the 6 courses which i took over the year). I went to no lectures and did no coursework so i'm basically learning a whole years worth of 2nd year astrophysics from scratch in about 8 weeks.

Hence no SC2 for me :( :(

or at least very little, played a couple of 3v3s today and won one where i took my 1st expansion at 1 enemys main (PF rush). a few minutes later i took my 3rd too... at the other enemys main. guess where my 4th base went? pmsl bronze league team games are amazing. my allies also PF rushed but theirs failed. didn't have my leet skillz clearly.

Agh, sorry to hear that mate :( good luck for the resits!

On the one hand giving up SC2 for 6 months probably did help me pass my final year (hopefully!), but damn do i wish i was still reasonably good at this game :p

Damnit, you were supposed to help me get back into this game by repeatedly smashing me in TvP! :D

Would you come back for an OcUK tournament? :o:D:p
